Really? He doesn't look like a smoker.
He must use a lot of oil of olay.

Why would it matter if he was a smoker?

I was just pointing out a little known fact, he seems like the nations golden boy however he has some badass in him cuz we all know only tough guys smoke cigarettes and do blow.
Heath Ledger

It may be out there but its a little known fact, i'll bet 90 percent of the people who read this if they didnt know never would have pictured Obama as a chain smoker.
DarrinS
04-04-2008, 10:52 AM
He talked about it on Ellen Degeneres
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzGU4hpONJw
But, again, why is this important?
I'm not even a supporter and I could care less about him being a smoker.

It's little known because nobody gave a shit about it the last three times it was mentioned in the mainstream media.

My main reason for not voting for Obama would be that he is pretty much a dilettante and might have a period of shitiness longer than Bill Clinton's before he got rid of most of the ideologues and idiots that surrounded him early on, not his smoking.

I'm not sure what the problem with this might be. It's funny that we expect our politicians to be clean and pure in everything.

Actually, "the media" does comment on it. Usually about the time they report that his wife made him give them up for good before starting the campaign.
I am sorry that it seems to surprise you that this bit of non-news is a rating yawner.
News stations are run on ratings.
Now, a question for the OP that will not go away until answered:
How much of a ratings bump would running more than ONE minor bit on this non-news story get any news organization?

He looks like a possible smoker to me. From the little I've seen of him, some of his mannerisms look similar to those of longtime smokers I know. Not a guarantee, but not something I'd doubt if told about.
Not that I care one way or another.

Couple that with high gas prices and my entire paycheck goes to rent, insurance, Exxon, and Marlboro.

You and Snoop Dog...
Snoop Dogg Claims KKK is Among Obama's Biggest Supporters (http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/article/snoop%20dogg%20blasts%20obama_1064503)
The rapper, real name Calvin Broadus Jr., insists the Democratic candidate has received funding from historically anti-black organisation the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). He says, "The KKK gave Obama money. They was (sic) one of his biggest supporters... Why wouldn't they be? The media won't tell you that. They don't want you to know that. They just want you to know that this n**ger befriended this other n**ger who be (sic) threatening your values. "But we all know all presidents lie to get into f**king office. That's they (sic) job."
In case you hadn't heard, there's a segment of the black population which opposes Obama because whitey will be able to say there's no racism left. So to prove there is still racism, they want the black guy to lose. Odd, but I guess I get that.
And, in the case of Snoop Dog, pot is apparently a gateway drug to stupidity.

part of me wants to say, "ha ha!! that's what you get!" when ever i see liberal politicians being dissected over the dumbest unimportant things.
but the other part of me, actually the bigger part of me wants to just cringe when i think back at all the unfair criticism GW recieved, like the my pet goat one and that time when he was quizzed about some obscure leaders.
Seriously, this is all trivial bullshit. I am sitting here caring about the issues that affect me. i want to know if obama is for change, not wether he smokes virginia slims. this is all really pathetic.
if leftist wonder why people still defend bush up to this day, one only has to look at the past times when the left was just flinging mud at bush without regard and care for the facts. Once the left actually had valid criticisms, they weren't to be taken seriously, because the bush supporters saw the left as just an oppurtunistic ass trying to get one up on the opposition.
Let all this trivial bullshit go.
Who cares if bush didn't don a cape and get into his batmobile to prevent the planes from hitting. THere was nothing bush could do, that wasn't already being taken care of by the various govt agencies that actually have experience in those matters. Bush did the right thing by not panicking and showing that no matter what happens, terrorism will not interfere with our lives. America goes on.
and with the whole Barrack Obama, chain smoking. Get beside yourselves.
Better for a politician not to be truthful with a smoking habit, than a politician to be untruthful with shady real estate deals that ripped people off. hint hint, whitewater.
obama is not a bad man in my eyes.
i just think he's not the awnser, and his message is decieving.

I imagine maybe a little bit of a "ratings bump." I don't know. Barack certainly has a high "Q-rating." But I tend to think Americans are smarter than to care much either way over whether or not he smokes.
I don't know.

Did he lie about it? Well, now it wouldn't surprise me.
As I have pointed out in other threads, I don't like McCain or Hillary. I would vote for McCain if Hillary was the nominee, but I wasn't so concerned if Obama becaume president. Any of the three will screw our nation, so I'd rather it be a democrat, but Hillary scares me. And I don't scare easy...
Let me expand a little. This seems rather unusual since Obama is as liberal as they come. It's just that I thought he was an ethical democrat. Since the Wright incident, and a couple other things that have come to light. I changed my mind. He is very adept at lies and deception. Before, I thought his lack of experience would be tempered once he sat in that chair with the desire to do what was right, even though it would challenge his liberal nature. I no longer believe that.
Lies. Yes for me, ethics and integrity mean allot. That's why I support presidents Bush. He has shown himself to be very liberal on some policies and I really dislike that pat of him, but he is still a man of integrity. He is a good leader, even though he doesn't know how to talk right.
