I was just pointing out a little known fact, he seems like the nations golden boy however he has some badass in him cuz we all know only tough guys smoke cigarettes and do blow.
It may be out there but its a little known fact, i'll bet 90 percent of the people who read this if they didnt know never would have pictured Obama as a chain smoker.

If by hiding you mean stating those facts plainly it in his book, in the papers and on national television, he's done a horrible job of keeping the secret.
My main reason for not voting for Obama would be that he is pretty much a dilettante and might have a period of iness longer than Bill Clinton's before he got rid of most of the ideologues and idiots that surrounded him early on, not his smoking.
Personally, I just want to see the Presidential motorcade with spinners.

His middle name is Hussein and he used to smoke. Of course, he smoked Kools so he can't relate to the average Marlboro Reds smoking stiff.
Actually, it would probably sound a little more nefarious if he smoked Camels given that, again, his middle name is Hussein.
Actually, "the media" does comment on it. Usually about the time they report that his wife made him give them up for good before starting the campaign.

News stations are run on ratings.

How much of a ratings bump would running more than ONE minor bit on this non-news story get any news organization?

He looks like a possible smoker to me. From the little I've seen of him, some of his mannerisms look similar to those of longtime smokers I know. Not a guarantee, but not something I'd doubt if told about.
