I actually feel better about this game at half time than game one, even though the game one lead was bigger. This time, the Spurs are leading the rebounding count. Last game they were getting killed on the boards.

If the perimeter guys can get some semblance of shooting touch, the Spurs will be OK.

The Hornets haven't impressed me at all. The Spurs play is so disappointing. Nobody stepping up to hit or even take the wide open looks. The '07 Spurs would be on their way to a sweep of this team. It looks like the Spurs have never faced a hard double on Tim before. That should be the look they know how to burn like no other. For god sales, wake the fuck up!

Adjustmenst on offense they missed like 20 wide open jump shots out there.

Yeah...we need points in the paint to get us going. There's no way the guards are going to get points in the paint with Tim sitting down in the lane with the paint clogged.

Tony and Manu FVCKING SUCKED in that first half. Even Greg Sutton and Vinny Del Negro have to be embarrassed by that first half performance. Manu is playing like he forgot his basketball IQ somewhere on Bourbon Street and Parker is playing like he's a rookie.

Too many unnecessary turnovers. Why do they automatically look for a jumper on offense?

GET the ball to Duncan! He shows he can score before the double team comes and if the double comes, he can pass it out to the open man. Go to Duncan FIRST ALWAYS! Even if he's on the bench! :lmao

Look at our shooters, they're all afraid to shoot except for Barry. They pump fake and look to pass.

I have no problem with 4down after they get into a rhythm. But the early misses have shaken their confidence and no one wants to pull the cord from deep.

Get them some easy buckets, get a little flow going, then you can unleash 4down when someone besides Barry has the confidence to step into a three pointer.

You've obviously never played ball. The Spurs are 2-12 on threes. That creeps into everyone's heads when they're shooting.

What do you think is easier for most folks to hit to get into a rhythm? A layup or a 24 footer? Do teams start shooting threes when they come out or shoot a couple of gimmes first?

TampaDude
05-05-2008, 10:01 PM

The double is working on Tim because the Spurs' outside shooters aren't making the Hornets pay...if the Spurs start hitting those 3s, it will open up the middle and TP can go to work.

It didn't stop New Orleans from doubling in game 1 when we were 9-13 in the first half.

If we are going to play 4down then Byron is going to take Tim out of the equation and bet that our perimeter players can't beat him. So far he's looking smart. And if we don't either 1) get white hot from outside for four games or 2) make some adjustments, he's still going to be coaching in two weeks while Pop's going to be sipping wine.

That's another reason I want us to do something other than 4down. It plays right into the New Orleans defense, and we need to do something to get them out of their comfort zone and give our guys some easier looks.

The Hornets arent changing shit. It's simple. The Spurs take CARE of the ball, run the offense through Tim, Tim hits the open man off the hard double, the guy pulls the trigger and hits a high percentage... Spurs win. I give up. We're shooting 50% from inside the arc and 21% from outside it. Do some math.

Yet everyone insists we just need to keep shooting from out there. I guess everyone's ready for the season to be over.....

This team can't win a series with Tim Duncan being a non-factor and our perimeter role players being asked to beat New Orleans four times. But that's what Byron has challenged us to do with his hard doubles on Tim, that's what some of you think we need to play into the hands of, and everyone's going to get their wish.

Byron wants to make Bruce, Finley, Barry, Udoka, Manu, Thomas, and Tony to beat him from outside four games out of seven. You guys all want to see us try.

And this team's season is going to end by the end of next week if so.

Spurs dont want this series. Simple as that...

No, simple is four down. Pop loves it, Byron's baited him into going to it exclusively, and we're going to watch our team get swept out of the post-season.

Then we'll get some bullshit E-N articles about how the team is simply old, make some off-season moves, and no one will call out Pop about his stupid offense in this series.
