I tried to lay down for about 45 minutes and all I can think about is what a blown opportunity that was.

Yeah I have to be up early in the morning and neither can I.
This is a punch to the old gut loss.
I fell asleep during the game, because the Spurs were just handing some ass out LOL. I can fall asleep pretty easily and I will right now, I'm not worried at all or feel bad about this loss, Spurs got this shit.

I've only been this pissed about two losses ever...
1) Terry Porter falling on his ass
- and -
2) Fucking Strickland blowing game 7.

I'm still trying to decompress from this game. I haven't hit depression mode yet.....:) It's coming though.....
I'll be okay by tomorrow......after I read the LA Times tomorrow about how Kobe Bryant is the greatest ever....the usual...the Spurs are too old....the Lakers vs. Celtics is about to become a reality........
The one thing that is going through my mind is how this game reminds me of the Derek Fisher .04 shot in 2004..............

I can't sleep but it has nothing to do with the Spurs. I'm just being stupid and surfing the web. I need to get some rest like the Spurs are right now. We'll be fine guys... so don't worry about it.

Good luck with your finals... you deserve the best.
I can't sleep either... still can't get over how the Lakers came back from a 20-point deficit over a very focused defending champion. :downspin:

The defending champs were not that focused to blow a 20 point lead and the game...that's the thing that keeps playing in my mind over & over...not Kobe's MVP performance in the 4th quarter but......the Spurs blew a 20 point lead!!!!!:bang:bang:bang:bang

Me too. I hope it's not just the fans that it deflated. Still, this was game #1, not game #5. If this was game #5 and this shit happened, I would be more worried.
I slowly calming down and coming back to the realization that everything went wrong that could have in the last few days and we still almost won.

Actually, that was to Elliott. And he was actually partially to blame, since he should have made the baseline cut for what should have been a easy dunk. But Strickland hot-dogged it beyond what was necessary.

If the Spurs can take 1-2 games in LA that's already good. Just defend the homecourt. Don't give up anything easy. Spurs will win in 6 games.

I know this loss sucks. We had a great oppurtunity to steal game one and blew a 20 point lead and all that but bottom line is that we only lost by 4 on their court after very limited rest. This loss has the feel like we let one get away and should've won. When we lost game one to NO it was more like " oh shit" so i'm not too concerned , just frustrated that we let one get away. i still say silver and black in 6.

A loss is a loss.
At the end the way you lost isn't that important, the result is the same.
Spurs are a thought team. I'm sure this loss won't be in their head.
And it's only game 1, the series has just started. The team that won game 2 will have the momentum.

me neither. TOday was just not good.
I got a 2nd degree ankle sprain playing ball, had a very awkward dinner with a friend and his family, then come home to watch the Spurs piss away a brilliant performance by Tim and choke away the game.

man, if i was a Spurs fan I wouldnt even be able to watch ESPN for the next few days. I cant image that sick feeling your stomach. I keep thinking about it too, but surprisingly, I'm not that angry or sad about it..I'm a die-hard fan, but I've gotten past this point..I've gotten to the point where I realize that getting angry or sad about it doesn't change anything..it's different if it's a game with a questionable outcome from the refs, but this was just a game where our team lost it..nothing we can do as fans..
all we can do is remember that the players and coaches actually went through this embarrassment in front of everyone, and we have to have confidence in them to bounce back from this..it's all in their hands..

Not an excuse. You obviously missed the point. If the Lakers can come back w/o Bynum and Ariza, what could they have done with them?

I would have to be in that situation. you might be right. i think i would just be looking froward towards next year. and to the other guy, i just hate hearing that, i guess cause i hate hearing Rocket fans saying "well if yao was healthy" but i guess i took it out of context.

Man this shit keeps getting better. The Lakers continuing to show why they are back. They are back to giving fans of the opposite team sleeping problems after winning a game in heartbreaking fashion. :lobt2:

A very disappointing loss, but can you honestly say you were impressed by the Lakers? Sure they could have played better, but the same can be said about the Spurs. I am encouraged that the Spurs were able to control the tempo despite all the turnovers and terrible shooting in the 2nd half.
