By the same token, the Spurs would have won this game had they not missed all those easy shots in the 4th...the DEFENSE is not the problem...good luck in the Finals, LA...crush the Celtics!!!

I agree. This series is closer than the score indicates.

Barkley and Kenny do have a point when they say Barry should have "sold" the foul. Unfortunately, no NBA ref wants to decide the outcome of a game in that situation by making a so-so call.

It has to be an obvious foul for them to make that call, and Barry pretty much did everything he could to bail Fisher out by ducking under him. Before the play, I hoped Barry would get the shot - he did - and I still stand by my opinion, but still...

You know Manu would have walked to the line from that.

Spurs were better than the Whorenets. That's not saying much for your team.

Spurs didn't compete hard enough at the start and we got crushed in the boards which resulted to tons of 2nd points chances.

We'll play with our back against the walls throughout the series now, that may play something on the players attitude!

If we can survive next game in LA, it's still a series!!

Spur's fans have lots of excuses - that's all they can do at this point - out played, out hustled, and outclassed.

The big question: Why didn't Pop rest Duncan late in the 3rd or in the 4th? He had nothing at the end because he was too tired. In the last 11 minutes of the 4th quarter, Duncan was 1-6 with 2 points.

A two point win qualifies you for this kind of bragging? Think not:lol

Phil Jackson said the ball grazed the rim on the Fisher shot, that should have given the Lakers another 24 second shot clock.

On the replays, the ball DID hit the rim and went straight down to Horry's foot.

So you win some you lose some, that's why I never complain about the refs.

The champions made a great comeback.. I'm proud of them for that.

Yeah, but 2 of the remaining 3 are in LA, where the Spurs have won ZERO games so far in this series...Game 5 is gonna be a blowout by the Lakers...then I can finally relax and get on with my summer.

Pop says that if he was an official, he wouldn't call that a foul... but the fans are still crying.

I would have expected Pop to stick up for his team a bit more. It WAS a foul - whether or not it will get called by NBA refs scared of YouTube infamy is another thing.

But it WAS a foul.

Barry didn't play it right, he should have created the contact while Fisher was jumping.

He should have never taken this kinda shot, it was better for him to give it to Finley for an open 3.

To quote Popovich, "No, it wasn't a foul."

He and Barry both refuse to blame it on the refs. If only the fans were as gracious in defeat as the people actually involved in the game.

Spurs fans are never going to admit that their team simply got beat tonight.

Any objective fan watching this game can clearly see the Lakers were the better team.

I will. The Lakers straight up beat the Spurs tonight...no excuses, no whining, no blaming the refs. The Spurs didn't make the shots they needed to make and the Lakers did. The Spurs didn't get the rebounds they needed to get and the Lakers did. The Spurs played this game like it was November, not the WCF.

The Lakers were the better team tonight. While the series is not over yet, the Spurs are in an awfully big hole. How huge is Game 1 now, eh??? :lol

Oh, well...they're still a dynasty...the most successful pro sports franchise of the last decade...but they appear to be passing the torch to the Lakers now...barring a miracle comeback, this series is OVER.

Thanks for another great run, guys!!! See you all next season!!! :toast

I think everyone can agree that the refs in general SUCKED tonight!!! Either way there were major calls missed on both sides and I think Joey Crawford and his crew should be reviewed. Too many calls missed and then they changed it to ticky tack calls. So both teams had to adjust to the change in refs along with the changes the teams made. Terrible officiating.

If you guys do come back and beat us, I will root for you to beat Boston if Boston makes it in. I hope you will do the same to us.Of course we would - Laker's fans don't hate San Antonio - they are just jealous of San Antonio's recent success.

Any long time Lakers fan can't stand the Celtics (the orginazation & fans - not the Celtics players) - for those of you too young to remember some of the bullshit that happened in the 80's when the Lakers played road games in Boston in the finals:
-Garden staff turned off the hot water in the Lakers locker room and claimed it was "broken"
-Hotel workers setting off the fire alarm multiple times in the Lakers hotel in the middle of the night so Lakers players couldn't sleep
-Garden staff messing with the temperature controls in the Lakers locker room so it was like 100 degrees

Fucking cheating Celtics - a bunch of low class fans & workers have to cheat for their team to win, because the team can't win on their own.

So, who has come back from 3-1 before? Spurs have the ability to do it. I'm not giving up yet, but it will be very tough.

While it's not completely impossible for the Spurs to win this series , this is an incredible Lakers team (and thus it's unlikely for us to win 3 straight against them, 2 of the 3 being in Los Angeles).

It's extremely unlikely for the Spurs to win the series.

Again, Lakers were the better team in this game.

They are the better team.

They are extremely likely to win the series.

Lakers do not have any flaws that I can see.

Great offense, great defense, great 3 point shooting, a great MVP in Kobe, fantastic coach.

What is even more impressive: Lakers had the home court advantage. Spurs did not. So, the Spurs had more of an incentive to win a game on the road.
We didn't. Lakers knew that they could have won the series without winning a game on the road and didn't pull a Boston (at least in the first two series).
They came in and beat a team that had won eight straight playoff games at home, a team that had one of the top three home records in the league (something like that), the defending champs.

They came in with focus and passion and energy. They beat us on the boards.

Great job and congrats on the game and in all probability the series, Lakers.

Spurs aren't going to come back from 0-2 twice.

Spurs aren't now going to win the the next 3.

It's over. I expect Game5 to be another Game2 embarrassment.
4th qtr to be garbage time

The Lakers are better AND they want it more.
