Losing on the boards and on hustle plays is not a good sign. Either the Spurs were conserving energy for a second half burst, or they're so low on energy already that they can't get the hustle up.

I wouldn't say lucky shots, because that could be said for the spurs as well.

I think it's just the Lakers working harder for the rebounds and running for loose balls.

It's the 17/17 FT's for the Spurs that are keeping them in the game.

Being aggressive doesn't mean you're not going to committ fouls dumbshit.

Why does everybody keep claiming that Walton "outhustled Manu Ginobili for a rebound" when it was clearly Finley's ancient ass??

This series is over, no matter if the Lakers win or lose this game.

They can bring this kind of energy every night, they are young and in great shape. The Spurs can't, and as this series goes on it will get worse. Right now Barry, Manu, and Finley are huge defensive liabilities.

Agreed....and this is comnig from an objective Spurs fan. Lakers taking jumpers and getting offensive put-backs, Spurs are driving to the bucket and missing their jumpers. There's your game thus far. Glad SA is only down by 6 at half.

Well, hope the half time ass chewin, pep talk will get them going
As if goig 3-1 won't do it.

Someone needs to chew Pop's ass as well, Finley is redefining the term scrub.

-Thank the basketball gods for Brent Barry.

-Thank the basketball gods for these refs.

-Please get a damn rebound.

-Please get a !@#$ing rebound.

-If Manu is going to score or defend, at least rebound. Thanks in advance.

-Duncan has to take it up stronger.

-Horrible first half.

Gotta pull this out.

1.

Believe.

As a Laker fan you have to be worried because Tim has 14 points playing poorly. Also leads the team with 4 rebounds and only has 2 fouls.

The Spurs are playing a horrible game, they are only in this because of the free throw line. And they only got to the free throw line because the refs decided to call ticky tacks on the Lakers and let everything else slide on the other end.

It's almost not worth getting out to a big lead early against SAS. The refs will always let the Spurs back into the game.

not gonna find much sympathy on ST douche. the excuses are flowing and ya'll are UP 6???

WHO THE FUCK CARES ABOUT SHAQ? How does that have any impact on THIS game you dumbshit motherfucker?

The calls are finally starting to even out, so I'll shutup. But that lead should be at least 15-20, and not 6.

Okay, fuck Shaq. The Lakers wouldn't even be here if they weren't shooting 40 free throws a game against Utah in the semis.

Suck on that, Louis.

LAL interior D is much better tonight. Those long arms are getting in the way. Having said that we just have got to make those shots and take care of the ball. Too many foolish mistakes tonight. If we don't clean this up in the 3rd Q we could be looking at a 10 point deficit. Or more.

The Laker energy and defense are making them play the way they are playing. Jackson is right, refs got the Spurs back in the in the first. That was clearly a travel by Duncan.

The Spurs better win this 2nd half by 7 points or more. If they don't, their season is over. Kaputz. No repeat. You gotta' repeat at least once if you want to throw the word "Dynasty" around.

Again, the Lakers' last 3 rings came in large part due to the league's love affair with Shaq...he fouled entire teams out. You said Spurs fans should never complain about fouls going forward...Laker fans shouldn't be bitching either given their recent history.

Huh? All Im saying is the Spurs seem to be more aggressive on the offensive zone but not in their own zone. If Finley or Horry could make a shot to save their life it could be a different game.

Very depressing half!

We must limit those second chance points for the Lakers!

Manu must be productive.

No more Finley or Horry!

Keep Brent out there more, play Thomas Udoka off the bench!

Tim must hit the defensive boards and finish off defensive possessions!

Gotta be aggressive, nothing soft or weak!

Attack the basket!

This next half is our whole season if we don't win it by at least 8.

Even if we win this game, we're still underdogs in the series and deservedly so.

But without this game, our season is for all practical purposes dead.

Let's go Spurs!

What to Fix at halftime:

1) Rebounding, Rebounding, Rebounding
2) Manu Ginobili's shots
3) Parker/Duncan playing more aggresive and stop going for that soft layup and looking for the contact crap
4) Finley/Oberto/Udoka ANYONE from the Spurs bench making a shot
5) Pop reminding the Spurs that THEIR SEASON IS ON THE LINE. They seem to have forgotten.

We're not worrying about repeating right now.

We're focused on taking care of the defensive boards, one possession at a time.

We're focused on winning the second half by at least 8 points.

If you've read my posts, you know that even if we manage to win this game, I would still consider us underdogs to win the series.

And right now, our chances to win this game aren't exactly great.

This is a great Lakers team. Once you all got Gasol, I figured that this would be the best team in the NBA!

You all are a lot better than Boston!

The way I would rate the last 4 teams:

1. Lakers
2/3 Detroit/Boston
4. Spurs.

That's my take from what I've seen.

I hope that I am wrong since I am a Spurs fan!

Refs have been good to us by actually calling a fair game. They've missed a couple on both sides and are allowing contact in the paint.

If the Spurs rebounded the ball then this would be a near-blowout in our favor. Unfortunately for whatever reason the Lakers seem to want it more.

How come getting double teamed is a legitimate excuse for Duncan but not for Manu?

Not saying Ginobili hasn't played bad, but come on now... the more Finley and Horry spend time on the court, the more LA can focus on Manu.

Huge mistake.

Energy/Effort wasn't there for defensive rebounding.

That's why gave us this deficit and now trying to make it up and get over the hump requires so much energy, execution, no margin for error.

If Kobe would stop flailing and acting like he's getting shot in mid-air he might get a call. It's the same shit Tim Duncan was doing in the first half instead of going up strong and I called him out on it. Nice to see the refs aren't bailing out either player.

If we win this, it's going to be through pure grit and nothing else.

Shitty rebounding, terrible 3-pt shooting, no Manu. In most games we'd be gone.

From here on out it's got to be TP and Barry creating and scoring, and hope someone can step up... ANYONE! No other choice.
