I think the funniest part of this pick is that probably about 90% of you guys don't know anything about any of these prospects other than what you read in the articles or posts on here. When the guys in the league scout these f'n players. You freak out cause these guys fall farther than they were originally projected to go, but overlook the fact that 25 other teams weren't interested in them, either.

I am always impressed with the way Detroit drafts. They have a championship caliber team, but the improve it, give it depth, and stock for the future all at the same time. They take immediate impact players. It will be interesting to see what they do.

The point remains that the majority of the people in here, myself included, know absolutely frickin' nothing about these players. They fell in love with CDR or Chalmers because they saw them on TV in March - and they recognize the names. So, they'll blow up, saying it was a terrible pick, because they don't recognize the name.

-The Rockets totally busted up the Spurs’ plan to hide Nicolas Batum’s physical and get him to fall there. Batum might not be happy to get picked here, but will report to Houston like a good soldier. “We missed by one pick” his camp told us immediately after the Rockets took him. You could see Batum fidgeting in his chair in the five minute span between picks.

From DX. Sounds like the Spurs didn't have a backup plan if you ask me. George Hill is 2nd round talent. They fucked up.

Here's a little something I found on the NBA.com site.

"Hill is intriguing to me for two reasons. One, because he shares a name with a Oscar-winning director, George Roy Hill (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001351/) (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting, Slap Shot).

That, and IU-PUI has the best sounding abbreviation of any college: Ooey-Pooey I'm strange like that."

Ooey-Pooey. The official NBA site is laughing at us.

Check that. The Suns just had the draft of their dreams.

They can't announce the trade yet because it is pending league approval but Phoenix has acquired Slovenian point guard Goran Dragic in a trade with San Antonio.

This is a 6-foot-4, lefthanded point guard who Phoenix envisions can back up Steve Nash and take over the job in a couple years likely will be a Sun. Phoenix fancied him more than D.J. Augustin or Mario Chalmers and spent the night trying to make a deal to move up in the second round to land him.

By adding Dragic, Phoenix has addressed two of the toughest positions to fill -- center and point guard.
