Problem even with LMA playing...no A isn't the reason we lost...lol...

tl;dr: No Aldridge. No Poeltl. Problem.

Trey needs to just let it fly from deep. Enough with the pumpfakes and driving into the paint just to pass it out.
but somebody said with a win the Spurs could be the 9th!!! seed![]()
Thanks for the grades OP.
Missed the game and always appreciate the detail revues.
What do we think of Lyles after almost a year with the Spurs? He's a keeper?
I think Lyles is a bargain at his salary of $5.5M, but isn't really good enough to be a starter on this team. According to Hoopshype the Spurs have him under contract for another $5.5M next season (fully guaranteed); I have no problem with that.
I'm trying to figure out how much cap room the Spurs will have if DDR walks. Do we know yet how much of Carroll's money next season is guaranteed? He might have given up some of it as part of the buyout, and iirc anything he makes next season will be subtracted from his cap hit with the Spurs.
"The bad: No Murray and White combination. His playcalling down the stretch was predictable. The Belinelli minutes were a waste."
You said a few weeks ago that the Spurs needed a few of these close games to start falling their way. Normally the really close games are a matter of good fortune. But sometimes you make your own fortune. When a team continues to lose games, and the coach continues to dial up bad rotations, it's not just bad luck.
If the Griz finish just 10-11, the Spurs will have to finish 16-7 to take that last playoff spot from them. This team isn't capable of finishing 16-7, especially with Pop calling the shots. Even the most... optimistic Spurs fans have to see that it's time to call up the young guys and start thinking about next year, and the future.
Just tank; strength of draft is irrelevant. Lose games and hope the ping pong balls work in our favor.
According to spotrac, Lyles is guaranteed $1 million next year, at this time, which will become $5.5 million guaranteed if he is still with the team on 06/30/2020. He signed for $11 million total with $6.5 M guaranteed, at the time of signing.

I think Lyles has shown that he's worth having on the roster, and his contract looks very good compared to some other deals the Spurs have done.
Here's what spotrac shows for Carroll.I'm trying to figure out how much cap room the Spurs will have if DDR walks. Do we know yet how much of Carroll's money next season is guaranteed? He might have given up some of it as part of the buyout, and iirc anything he makes next season will be subtracted from his cap hit with the Spurs.

Out of Carroll's originally-guaranteed amount of $15 million, over 3 years, he gave up $737,679. His "dead cap hit," against the Spurs next year, is $6,167,887. He is not under contract for next season, his deal with Houston is only for the rest of this year.
Here's what spotrac is showing for the Spurs next season.

Thanks for the grades. However, DeRozan deserves a F at best.
i'm calling it now. time to start working with the younger fellas and forget about the playoffs.
#10 is a good player, but his ability/play does not warrant a large dollar extension. To many mistakes. Less than stellar demeanor on the floor with the constant berating of officials and drawing T's.
By the time the ship is righted, DDR will be over the hill and declining just like LMA is doing now.
Time to change course.
Nice dunk by Lonnie. Wish we could see our more exciting guys play more now that we're firmly out of the playoff hunt.
Also, what exactly is a Pacer anyway
There was a car at one time called a Pacer.
Didn’t do too well.
A Pacer is a pace-setter, a horse, and a car. Lol
" the nickname was chosen because "we feel we will set the pace in the ABA, we will be playing at the Fairgrounds Coliseum across the street from where the (harness racing) pacers race at the fair, and the pace in auto racing is set in Indianapolis each May.""

The Pacers, like the Spurs, began in the ABA.
They certainly out paced us last night.
