From Inside Texas' Friday post...talks with Graham Harrell have picked up substantially and a deal is more likely than not at this point.

The hold-up can be attributed to numerous factors such as Harrell's agent feeling out head coaching situations, wanting to finish out the year with USC, determining which assistants he would hire at UT, etc.

Texas is fine with the process playing out at this point to avoid a situation like USC had with Kingsbury this time last year.

They're even hearing rumors of a deal being done with a certain coach already, but they haven't been able to confirm a name.

Though there's to me some 'apples to oranges' in this. Regular seasons often are a game longer and rules continue to aid offenses for the most part over the defenses, especially vs 15-20 years ago and beyond.

'Course, some of it is simply the greater emphasis in such offenses as the high school and lower levels: players offensively are pretty advanced over many of their predecessors.

JaTavion Sanders put on a SHOW today in Denton Ryan 35-7 victory over lone star (came in ranked #1 tonight n state). He had a pick 6 called back, but did record 3 sacks, and caught a 50 yard bomb, and had several other catches. That young man is a stud ! Can’t wait to see him in burnt orange ! Oh , and Billy Bowman had a pick 6 !

Coach Samples had said possible torn ACL, won’t know until Monday for sure. Hate to see it, one could only imagine how bad he wanted the North Shore rematch. When Duncanville went 35-0 I was starting to worry every time I saw him run and thought it was time for the backup to come in.
