About half of the adult U.S. population will have obesity and

about a quarter will have severe obesity by 2030,

health and economic effects of obesity and severe obesity take a toll on several aspects of society.

“Obesity, and especially severe obesity, are associated with increased rates of
chronic disease and medical spending, and

have negative consequences for life expectancy,”

What Is Known About the Link Between Obesity and Cancer?

Several recent studies have established a link between being overweight and developing cancer.

Many people mistakenly believe that cancer is predominantly an inherited condition.

    This is not the case.

Too much ing sugar in our food in the US, it's ridiculous and cutting it down would do so much for our healthcare costs.

People can't be bothered to take care of themselves but they want the government to cater to their every need.

    7 Primary Causes of Obesity

Some reasons why obesity become a weighty issue

    https://www.endocrineweb.com/conditi...causes-obesity

The primary cause is BigFood, not personal failures. Why would BigFood do that? $$$$$

But people do eat whatever Standard American Diet, aka so-called food, is set in front of them.

btw, something like 40% of American food is wasted.

It's very easy to be slim. It's all about calories. IIRC some professor lost weight eating nothing but Twinkies.

The reason people are fat is also one of the reasons people are broke... they eat out all the god damn time. It's really hard to eat healthy or have any type of portion control when restaurants put a giant plate of carbs in front of you.

Texas sized portions are why Texans are fat

NY sized portions + the NY active walk-around-the-mega-city lifestyle is why New Yorkers are so fit and slender.

Same for why chicks from Minnesota and Wisconsin are hot. They don't eat such big portions + the cold weather causes their body to burn more calories to maintain homeostasis at 98.6 degrees fahrenheit. That's an underrated reason why the South in general is fatter than the north TBH.

And then you have the religious crap concentration in the south which leads to much earlier pregnancies and thus, more fatness because the women get obese having babies and the men get obese drinking so much beer and liquor because they're fed up with the babies.

2 states had an obesity prevalence of 35 percent or higher among non-Hispanic white adults.
9 states had an obesity prevalence of 35 percent or higher among Hispanic adults.
29 states and the District of Columbia had an obesity prevalence of 35 percent or higher among non-Hispanic black adults.

Most Costco men's size go from M to XXL - no small - except Puma athletic pants which are too long for the little one :-(
