This is another interesting point. Greg has such a cult of personality that he's not going to be pushed out by anyone - Buford, nor whoever owns the team (do we even know?).
Another aspect is can anyone see the San Antonio fans turning against this man? I feel like they must be the nicest fan base in the league.
It'll play itself out though I'm confident about that. I still think SA makes the playoffs this year, but if they don't Popovich will need to re-evaluate his effectiveness. Missing the playoffs after that FIBA Cup result should be enough to convince him it's time to pass the reigns.
