The whistle-blower doesn't even matter in this impeachment case anymore because essentially everything he/she wrote has been corroborated by witnesses/do ents.
It's the defense the right has been using for Trump for everything ever since 2015.
It usually starts with a bald denial. Then deflection and sliming accusers. At some point "it's not illegal" is trotted out.
The call with Zelenskiyy was unusual in the way bald denial and blunt admission were almost simultaneous.
I’ve been traveling and didn’t have time to comment, but what the House is doing of procedurally delaying the trial in the Senate is, IMO, wrong on many levels. Even if we’re all aware the Senate won’t remove (and this was the case before the process started), and even if Mitch said what he said, the House simply has the facts and Cons utional duty to carry out its obligations, which they did, and there is where it ends. Mitch’s comments will simply reflect poorly on him when history is written, and the Dems would be wise to play it by the book unless they also want an ugly footnote in the history books.

There's no book for the timing here. It's cons utional hardball, like Mitch deciding Merrick Garland doesn't get a hearing. If a better process in the Senate is the result it might have been worth it.
There's no reason to think Trump will stop grifting, particularly if there the Senate trial amounts to a speedy vote to acquit.

I know it’s not a popular opinion, especially to those fervently looking for revenge (much more than justice). Look, it’s not happening in this impeachment proceedings. Get that out of your head right now. It wasn’t happening when this process started and it won’t be happening now. You knew the Senate wouldn’t remove, because it *is* a political process, not a judicial one.
That doesn’t mean the process shouldn’t have happened. It matters historically, and that’s what people coming after us, hopefully looking back to make sure they don’t make the same mistakes, will look at.
Mitch is a sinister character for our democracy. So is Dear Leader. History should reflect that front and center, because you can’t politically win the short game, but if you want to win the long one, you need to make sure not to get right smack in the middle of the people that did the wrong thing.

Moscow did not violate the Cons uion. He played very hard ball behind the lie "no SCOTUS justice (from the Dems) in an election year", but lying is not illegal, nor is screwing Obama/Garland.
