We’re not talking about any conspiracy here. We’re talking about our democracy and carrying out the job these people swore an oath to defend beyond partisanship or gotchas.
Neither the GOP nor the Dems are saints when it comes to all this, but doubling down on stupid isn’t a winning strategy either. Neither base can win an election in this country, you have to convince the non-partisan to cast a vote for you and so despite the small battles, the war is won demonstrating you can raise above the fray and do what’s right for the country, beyond your personal or partisan interests.
After all, Orangina won his election with the image of an outsider, fighting special interests, above the partisan divide (remember how he wasn’t going to endorse the GOP candidate if it wasn’t him?). He’s predictably none of those things, and corrupt to the core, no doubt about it.
Dems will not win the impeachment battle. That’s fine, they already are on the record historically opposing this clown, which will go down as one of the worst presidents in American history.
Point is, that was their duty. They did their job. Now the Senate should do theirs and then let people vote next year.
^ disagree again on the “trump was terrible” tbqh
as much as I detest Trump, best evonomic growth in decades, relative peace, very few american soldier deaths, job growth.
so far this Trump presidency is pretty pretty good and will go down inhistory that way
Damn you’re deep in Trump’s ass my dude.
just call it like it is tbqh
Im no partisan muppet
believing in the 2 party democracy farce
thinking the USA is a democracy
Like parliament is doing much better? Germany and UK are far and away in a tier place than us politically.
dont disagree with that tbqh
uk parliament is a joke and has been for ages. toothless brits are one of the most controlled muppets in the world
germany is a tad bit better than both us and uk
He received a great economy on the way up. He should get credit for not ing it up.
Outside of that, he’s a terrible leader, divisive, unpopular, xenophobe, corrupt, ignorant, vain, petty... the worst qualities you can put on a person, he has them all.
Most all of his adlib policies (NK, tariffs, Paris agreement, Embassy on Jerusalem, immigration, etc) have done nothing for the US if not outright backfired. He’s not even interested in the country but his own petty personal goals.
Why do you detest him? Because he’s a bumbling idiot. You just enjoy he triggers dem libs, which has nothing to do with what we’re discussing. I’m not even advancing here Shillary would’ve been better (she’s irrelevant since ‘16).
But, regardless how we feel about POTUS, the point is that the Dems stooping down to clown level to match these guys is not better for this country in the long run. You don’t want this to be the new normal.
we are discussing his presidency which so far has been a good one for the facts I described
didnt get us into stupid wars
didnt sink economy
on the contrary peace increased and economy increased.
we can talk about him being a clown all day but we in terms of his presidency and those 2 most important aspects(war and economy). its been great
The topic I made a comment on was his impeachment proceeding, particularly the Dems course of action. Tangentially I pointed out his performance as POTUS.
I’m more interested in discussing the former. Frankly, I disagree with you on the later and that’s fine. I base my opinion on his dismal job approval throughout 3 years, despite a good economy, and a recent poll (I’ll try to find a link, hard to do on the road) where ~40% of respondents believe his presidency will be ranked as ‘poor’ when all is said and done.
But back to the topic at hand, I think it’s a mistake for Dems to play procedural hardball on this. It’s a battle they can’t win.
the impeachment will go down in history as a mere partisan ploy same as the Clinton one
historians will take a look at the vote tally and see no republicans sided with democrats thus name it an obvious partisan move. no more no less
I actually think history will show this impeachment was proven mbarrasing and a joke on democrats and the backlash thats coming to them will back that up
clinton was impeached because he got a blowjob and then tried to cover it up
trump is getting impeached because he committed an impeachable offense and then tried to cover it up
Supreme Court Lawyer:
Latest Poll Numbers Show ‘Trying to Hide Evidence’
Isn’t Helping Trump
support for President Donald Trump’s removal from office has reached its highest point yet, at 55-percent.
While some critics of the president believe this indicates that “hiding evidence” from the American people isn’t going over well,
others are advising a wait-and-see approach.
Supreme Court litigator and former acting U.S. Solicitor General Neal Katyal.
“Trump trying to hide evidence from the American people is not helping him,” Katyal concluded.
the numbers also showed
“many people moving from ‘opposition’ to ‘don’t know,’”
which could have significant implications for Trump’s public support.
the numbers appear to reflect voters’ frustration with:
the White House’s refusal to cooperate with congressional impeachment investigators;
leading GOP Senators’ unwillingness to hear more from key witnesses
like Mick Mulvaney and John Bolton about the withholding of military aid to Ukraine.
“This polling is a clear sign that Republican policy of complete obstruction is not selling well to voting public.”

Hey bro..how many portraits do you have of dear leader hanging on your walls?
Frankly, IMO, both Trump and Biden will be historically judged harshly, and rightly so. If Dems understand the long game, and considering they have the upper hand there (based on on a number of items, like policy, demographics, etc), they should be aware that Biden is the wrong candidate.
“tried to cover up the blowjob” != perjury tbqh
dont rewrite history
none tbqh

but as I always said. we dodged a bullet by him beating ler![]()
clinton was impeached because he got a blowjob" LIE
"then tried to cover it up" LIE
he got impeached for "lying" to grand jury, having been indicted for civil acts BEFORE office (why not Trash?), SOTUS 9-0 said he was indictable.
He tried to define sex only as penile penetration of vagina, which didn't happen, AFAWK.
Apparently, for some sex-weird, sex-hung-up southern Christians, that is their definition.
uh huh
Still disagree with your main point here - let me give you two scenario's - #1 - is what I basically understand you are calling for - and #2 - what I think they should do:
#1 - Dems just lay down and die right now - and say "well we did our job - don't want to rock the boat anymore because our tail between the legs demographic does not want us to look too partisan or too overly-political!"
So - they just allow moscow mitch to rig the trial and hope history is kind. The Repug Senate just quietly acquits him and no other drama unfolds - and people will have mostly forgotten by November 2020.
#2) Pelosi plays hardball. Demands that the senate be fair and impartial. Dems insist on witnesses and also request for Trump to testify under oath - and force a vote where all americans can watch which Senators vote to make trump accountable and which senators try to cover up trumps crimes. Witnesses testify and if lucky - the trial goes on into the summer of 2020 -
in the end -
with Americans as witness - the vote takes place and after EVEN MORE EVIDENCE is introduced - republicans STILL acquit the traitor -
then Dems can stand proudly and say - vote your conscience. Or - in a perfect world -
the world sees the evidence and the american public - DEMANDS that ALL senators vote to convict - as required by the cons ution.
