While we're on the subject of the Patriots, you really gotta respect Bellichick's desire to win and compe iveness. Even after a tough L, he's not waddling over to midfield getting ready to slurp a former assistant.

If that was Pop, they would have had to pry him off of Vrabel's leg

Well at least the Patriots lost.
YES! More than made up for this lost Spurs season that I expected anyway.

I'm not saying its a good deal - just less horrible. Undoubtedly a waste of the Holt's money and the season ticket holders money. Too many personnel errors in this offseason no doubt.
Not being an LMA fan, I don't remember a good offseason from PATFO.

In a way, that's why I didn't want Forbes on the bench; because it meant that the Trio of would probably get some playing time. At least two of those ing turds need to get permanently bench/cut/traded/sent to the gulag.

Pop would have laughed it up and invited Vrabel to have wine with him after the game.

    Shouldn't happen with Murray available.

But at the same time is Pop really going to play White-Wombat-Forms together as part of the bench unit? Who plays SF? That's super small. Having Belli in there instead of Forbes makes more sense although I can't see Pop demoting his adopted son even further. Carroll or KJ would be ideal.

I can actually see Pop using this as a reason to put Forms back in the starting line-up smh.

The guy has GOT to be hurt. That is a s of the player we saw last year. The Spurs need to let him heal up at some point. He also needs the summer off. There is no aggression to his game right now.
Meaningless international play is the culprit, IMO.

Valiant effort all things considered. Spurs actually played them tough when the triumvirate of Wombat, inelli, and Forms weren't out on the floor together. Have to imagine that will never happen with Murray available.

Pop needs to cut his stupid out where he plays any one of them alongside the starters in key moments down the stretch of games though. It's not genius. It's not cute. He waited way too long to bring back Walker back in in the 4th.

White, Lonnie, Murray--at least two of those guys always need to close.
Lol. Yep close the game with players who can only rebound, great plan

As bad as the bottoms of the west is it’s likely the 8th seed will get the 15th pick anyway.

Recall Leonard was acquired at 15. Meaning you can still root for them to make
The playoffs and still get a decent to good player in June. Plus a first round matchup vs Lakers will get a lot of national attention for the Spurs.

Wasn't unforeseen tbh. Mills, Forbes, and Beli playing together is a defensive nightmare.

The Lopez brothers absolutely killed us. This is why we need a real center. Even Poetl couldnt stop them for some reason.

Maybe White can be the starting SG and Lonnie plays as the SF in the 2nd team or Pop finally plays Carroll

Carroll can barely move, brah. There's a legit reason why he isn't playing. He might be even worse than Pondexter was last year.

yet somehow the supposed GOAT coach didn't see that coming and thought it would give the team a chance to win

At least, hopefully, this will be the lineup going forward:

    Murray, LWIV, DDR, Lyles, LMA
    Mills, Forbes, White, Gay, Poeltl

    Murray/Mills

    Lyles/Gay (Metu)
    LMA/Poeltl

would be the ideal with the current roster (and yes, it won't happen)

those 2 forward spots are such obvious holes in the roster. Yeah, I guess you can get away with DDR at the 3 but, with no real SF on the team and no starting caliber 4, you're still looking at a 4-1 loss to some LA team at best.

It won't matter what the rotations are when you instead have a logjam at the 2, gifting too many minutes to Belinelli and Brynt Formes. Pop.

I hope so too, but that's still not the right rotation. Forbes has to be benched completely and Carroll needs to play those bench minutes. In an ideal scenario the Spurs put a package together to get a real SF for the bench and a real PF for the starters. Use Forbes, Mills, Belinelli and Carroll to get at least one of the 2 back so you can further improve the team.

Why try to improve the team when they'll going to likely be 8 games under .500 after the next 7 games? if the Spurs do you make deals, it should be to try and move DeRozan, Aldridge, etc to aid in the rebuild.

Spurs can maximum the team's ceiling by continuing to start LWIV, removing Beli and Forbes for Carroll.
