But i do agreed with you guys, Metu should start getting some looks at Pf.

Metu is an above average athlete even at NBA level based on my observations. His contract is a cheap two-way deal at a very modest salary. Perhaps he is worth a more substantial deal next year with the big club Spurs.
How's his defense I know he can block shots. I'm wondering if he can guard players like Siakam and those type of guys, is his foot speed quick enough? This team really doesn't have a guy to match up with those type of players. I mean his foot speed you'd think would be better than Rudy at this point.
Metu has major defensive potential due to his size, build, quickness, etc.
His challenge will be scoring enough to stay on the floor.
Metu's problem is still being a blackhole on offense (he is an ISO post player), the same way Aldridge is. For him to be effective, the offense needs to be centered around him. He currently doesnt move around enough on offense and he looks to make a play for himself first before trying to find the next guy. This is my observation of Metu. I'm not saying he wont improve.
It's not a two way, it's a legit NBA contract, and they paid him a small part of the MLE, since it's for 3 years. He occupies one of our 15 NBA roster spots. He won't need a new deal next year, since he'll already be under contract. In 2021, he'll be a restricted FA.
He's looked better this year. He looked awful in NBA minutes, but the more concerning thing was that his gleague numbers were so average. A guy that athletic should be owning the paint as a rim runner on offense, and he barely shot 50%. Better gleague numbers this year.
Im tired of this have to prove it Pop has adopted. While some do need it, others could help the big club now. All the while we have to watch like Forbes, belinelli, mills, etc...
We don't have the same roster when doing this was a bonus for the franchise.
keldons gotta prove he can shoot or else he's just a better blossomgame
will Metu have to play at the stretch 4? if so, does he have the potential to develop a three point shot, with regularity? or, is he more of a center? perhaps, a capella with a better mid-range shot.
My bad. You are correct. $3MM over a two year period (2019 and 2020 seasons) is REALLY good money for someone who was not a high draft pick and is trying to get established. At least the Spurs have another year to evaluate him for the long term.
Jaron was never this aggressive on scoring, had this physicality, the touch around the rim that Keldon has and, above all, the drive/energy that Keldon has displayed. This all led to him averaging a measly 4.2ppg in his stint with the Cavs, I don't even know where he is now. Keldon looks to have a higher floor than Jaron's ceiling at the very least, though I agree work on his shot would be nice to see. At this point though it's obvious that the coaching staff has been telling him to focus on his work in the paint; we'll see whether that focus changes as the season progresses.
Brandon Clarke is only regarded as the next Big Thing because the Spurs (very astutely) didn't draft him.
He's with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers now...I guess his game didn't blossom with the Spurs...
At this point Metu's NBA minutes are far too scant to be any gauge at all. His G-league numbers and the eye test are really the only ways to begin to evaluate him until he does get some burn in the NBA. Unless the Spurs absolutely fall out of the Race for Eight, that's all we are likely to have this season.
The WC with the Nigeria was a good eye test for metu last summer and he did pretty well.
The Spurs passed on a 23 year old role player for a 19 year old whose ceiling is a role player, in about 4 years.
Very astute of this front office. Just adds to their astute record of decision making the past few years.

I really like this G-League team. Keldon, Metu and Weatherspoon should all be able to help the main team next season
Luka Samanic has the tools to become much more than a roleplayer. Time will tell if he puts it together, peaks as a roleplayer, or even phases out of the league due to not developing. At pick 19 you can give yourself the luxury of gambling for a multi-year project and develop them; I'd be much more interested in immediate production/ability from a top 3 pick, tbh, like Ja Morant and RJ Barret are giving their teams this season.
Not Spoon. We already have a cluttered backcourt.
don't resign Forbes and Beli and sign Spoon. Not hard to understand why
I am all in. But I don't run the Spurs, and neither of those guys is my pet.
I don't get the hate from so many here on samanic. You ers all thought Metu sucked too.
I supported Metu in the Summer.
Man, Keldon ended that dude
