It's only $1 million difference between the original projected cap. The luxury tax being lower than projected will be a for teams trying operate right below it, but those aren't teams that would be in the market to sign DeRozan anyways.
The man got robbed. If he was playing in pretty much any other western conference market he'd have been voted in. I can see this contributing to him not wanting to resign.
I'd say that I hope he uses this as motivation going forward but theres not much more he can do. He's been playing out of his mind.

Damn and he was doing so much to make this a season to remember.
That guy is an idiot. He always says controversial about local teams to get a rise out of fans. He does the same with UTSA football. It's the only way for him to stay relevant since nobody gives a about him enough for a cookie cutter "DeRozan got robbed" tweet to get any responses.
DeRozan and Chris Paul both deserved it over Ingram. Booker is probably an even bigger snub, though
Damn, CP3 not getting in is ridiculous.
CP3 was voted in, tbh.
Demar was deserving but the spurs record is tragic. When was the last time the Spurs weren’t represented in an all star game, tbh? Feels like forever.
I’m actually surprised demar didn’t make it
lol Demar has been carrying this scrub team.
s still think its all pop![]()
I’m glad pussy ass demar didn’t get the ASG nod. Team is like the 10th seed
OMG HE HAD A 30 POINT GAME OMG![]()

demar
He beat out booker and derozan? lol thats crazy.
Voting was about a week or two too early.
Derozan deserved to be in over Ingram tbh. Better team record. I mean...Lillard got in...so wtf...
3P%. New NBA. /Story
Are you guys really surprised?

ASG for the West always full of snubs. Yet in the East ing Bam Adebayo gets in
DeRozan failure to get is a result of a few things-mostly fan influence, which I mean is a popularity contest of excitement. DeRozan is not throwing down hard jams, or game winning 3pt shots. He is not making ESPN highlights. Then you add the small market of San Antonio, and lack of national TV games, and the final nail is a losing record. Yet, I do believe he deserved it over Damian Liliard.
No he didn't, he was competing against front-court players, not guards. Spur fans on this thread showing their ignorance outside of spur topics

no, he doesnt. But u know who does and and did it and we could have him?? ingram
SA doesn't like him either. he'll never be welcomed here
His RPM is -0.37, good for 255th in the league. He's 13th in +/- on his own team...
He's definitely a very strange case from any advanced stats standpoint. Why doesn't him being on floor translate to better results for his team? You can't say the same about Giannis, Lebron, Kawhi, etc... It's pretty conclusive that their teams are not as good when those stars are off the floor, but for some reason it just doesn't work that was with DeRozan.
