Obama is probably waiting for the nomination process like last time.
was expecting him to speak against Sanders around the time Hillary did tbh

its an absurd, archaic system designed for a time where voters didnt have access to information. i mean how much info would the average iowa citizen have had 150 years ago about a field of random candidates from all over the country... not much. a caucus would allow for that exchange of information, debate, etc.

s outdated as , and the math required to get to delegates is beyond reason. a system where you could have the most votes in the 1st count AND final count and then still not get the most delegates is ass

    precinct rights!

from the official iowa dem caucus results page

while most counties already have 100% reporting... there is one satellite county that has 0% reporting. sanders has had huge wins in 3 of the other 4 satellite counties. if the last one follows, he probably takes the lead. though with how close they are, pretty good chance sanders and bootyjudge walk away with the same number of national delegates

So is Biden (lol) going to get delegates or what? I thought people who meet a 15% threshold get at least some? Pretty ty of Iowa to release these numbers at midnight.

    its a really complicated/stupid system

within each precinct you have to get 15% to be viable and be awarded the "SDEs" (state delegate equivalents). there are multiple precincts in each county. precinct being the actual gathering location.

and then based on how many SDE's you have at the end of the state-wide tally, they then, by proportion, assign the 41 national delegates. so if you are within a small handful of SDE's of one another, you most likely will have the same number of national delegates. so until we have 100% reporting, they aren't going to announce formally how many pledged national delegates anyone has. thats why the right column is all zeros right now

Just wondering because if you google Iowa caucus results you get a page with a list of delegates rewarded thus far. Sanders and Pete have 11 apiece. Warren has 5 and Biden 0 and so on.

those are estimates tbh, as far as i understand. ultimately depends on how the numbers finish. iowa usually announces those later

Watch her numbers explode in NH without the electronic cheats in effect.

If they don't it'll be because of the submission results that have cast her out.

Obama is probably waiting to see who emerges between them with the idea that his endorsement will get that person past Bernie. It’s too early for Obama to pick a horse, especially since Biden is sunk the minute Obama endorses anyone other than him.
I'd assume best chance for his endorsement would be for Warren going into super tuesday tbh since Pete legit has no POC vote. On the ground, Klobuchar took a chunk of Liz's votes, the Hillary morons split themselves

Especially now that results are out that Bernie won the Iowa popular vote handily and most likely the SDEs once the 1A-1 tally comes in

Guess they're really hoping Bloomberg cuts into the momentum. If Biden loses SC and has to drop out, who knows where his base moves to

I mean, you see Pete having money ties to the phone app, and the DNC releasing info portions at a time to make it look like Bernie lost til now... people on the ground knew Bernie won since the night of the caucus, then we see plenty of discrepancies in the final count.

in LOL at someone having to spot Bernie points being given to Deval Patrick of all people

Doesn't feel unwarranted to call that bs as something coordinated when you look at it all as a whole

Would be a smart move for progressive Warren supporters, Yang supporters, and Tulsi supporters to vote bernie from here on out

That seems almost impossible given how badly he got them black voters bent over.

I dont think that's his problem right now anyways. He's not going to win NH to begin with but now he does need a second place more than ever. If he places 4th or 5th again, no more mulligans. After NH we have another caucus. That might be the end of him if he doesn't do well in NH.

Depends on whether you espouse an actual political agenda or if you just want to subscribe to a cult of personality.

Iowa Democrats say Trump supporters tried to sabotage Monday's caucus backup plan

supporters of President Trump had flooded a hotline set up for local precincts to report their results in case a new vote-reporting app failed, as it did.

    Precinct chairs
waited on hold for long periods of time, and some gave up.

Sagar said on the call that he was manning the hotline Monday night and

many of the people who got through expressed support for Trump,
    two participants told Bloomberg.

The Trump backers got the hotline number from photos of caucus paperwork posted online, one person on the call said.
