In 2017, WNBA San Antonio Silver Stars franchise was sold to MGM Resorts International and became the Las Vegas Aces.
In 2019, AHL San Antonio Rampage franchise was sold to the Las Vegas Golden Knights.

In 202?, NBA San Antonio Spurs franchise will be sold to become Las Vegas Spurs ?

you can blame poop for all of this. the team was never in danger of leaving during his tenure...now he has done everything in his power to lose the team.

I remember back when there was a professional basketball team here in San Antonio.
No... It's true. This arrogant old white man ed it up, but it was fun while it lasted.

Las Vegas said no as long as Pop is coaching and Forbes is on the team.

I wonder how much brain damage does it take to seriously believe there's a chance the Spurs are relocated. Like, seriously, there's absolutely no argument for it beyond the cliff-jumping es on this rotten forum. Was paint sniffing a pastime of yours by any chance, OP?

    They aren't keeping "Spurs".

Potential buyers wont want it, not show biz enough or cool.

The dumb blue collar 9th grade education populace of Fan Antonio and their elected leaders will fall for the "You keep the Name, Brand, and Logo because of its cultural relevance to the community and maybe we'll gift you a franchise in the future" ploy
    U think they're moving brah?

Lol. It's not like I expect non-re ed responses from you, but you could've maybe put a bit more effort to it. Now it's a sniffer thing to say the Spurs are not being moved? They've had one of the most successful runs in the last couple decades, multiple rings and a lot of history to their name. franchises like the Suns, Minnesota, New Orleans, the Kings etc have been trash, unsuccessful, tanking pieces of for years now or even decades, also small markets (in NO's case with worst attendance % in the league) yet there was never an actual indicator that they were in danger of being moved.

Please enlighten me as for the argument that the Spurs are going to get moved because of a mediocre season and maybe a few tankinf years. Otherwise, you can go back to slurping Nephew's ty asshole as you do so succinctly.

The only way they're going to get a better deal then they have now is to have another arena built for them elsewhere. I'd say Austin might be a candidate if nothing NBA-sized gets built before the lease is up, but pulling up stakes to rent an arena that's already home to NHL teams in Seattle or Las Vegas isn't as good a deal as they have now. You can probably save the moving rumors for another decade or so.

It's only a possibility if the Holt family is looking for an exit strategy, and if the league is in favor of it. It's not likely, but both of those things are distinct possibilities. Peter Holt had a passion for it, but he's gone. And the league is about maximizing revenues. Always. It's not out of the question.

Austin is out of the question. It's closer to both the Dallas and Houston markets, and it has an even smaller MSA than San Antonio. The most important of those being the proximity to those other two markets. The league would always like to expand a market, but not at the expense of cannibalizing another. LA has enough to go around.

you got to pick a lane. Money or some unwritten 90-mile-closer rule.

And it's not like the Holts are majority owners. If they want an exit strategy they can sell their stake at any time. Having the team set up for 12 more years is an easier sell than maybe renting a hockey arena somewhere, sometime.

What do you mean Austin is closer to both the Dallas and Houston markets? By size or distance?

you got to pick a lane. Money or some unwritten 90-mile-closer rule.

As usual, you don't know what you don't know. Save your smirky little comments for the college kids. They don't play with me.

The Holt family is the heart and soul of the Spurs organization. Peter had a passion for it - the others, not so much. His absence has changed things within the ownership group already. By the way you represent yourself, you must know at least a few of them. Ask.

Not only that, but the SA city government has gone ape crazy, and is becoming steadily less business-friendly. And they are increasingly looking for ways to make businesses jump like puppets. I don't have any knowledge that the Spurs are looking to make an exit, but I know other companies who have started discussions.

You're a child. You know a bit about basketball, but you're a child.

What do you mean Austin is closer to both the Dallas and Houston markets? By size or distance?
By distance. If they were doing it over again today, they wouldn't put these three teams this close to each other. Same reason Jerry Jones does everything in his power to keep an NFL team from coming to San Antonio. (And why it will never happen.)

Why do you think pro sports teams blackout games, and why do you think the NBA bases it on a 150 mile radius? The NBA is all about BRI. Anything that they believe will reduce it, they prevent. And they orchestrate anything they believe will increase it. It's business, and I'm not knocking it. But if they believe that moving the Spurs would increase overall BRI? They will help make it happen.
