Actual homeless people are too busy hustling or stealing for their drug money. Not saying it’s a good thing, but they aren’t shameless enough to stand around begging.
I got desensitized to that really quickly at UCLA, they're ing all over the place and most of them are fake. The real homeless people yell at you at the bus stop, they don't ask for money. My friend who was a valet parker in Beverley Hills said he saw one who parked his Mercedes in the same garage they used and then would change into some ed up clothes and go out begging there. Also saw that same begging on Ocean Ave in Santa Monica. Worst was I saw this one "homeless" mother er at this popular cookie shop by the school and he had a 12 pack with him and was asking for money. I told him off, I wish I had a 12 pack right now.

Damn when I was there they weren't on campus but would be all over Westwood Blvd. Always fun to deal with the actual homeless mentally ill ones when I'd ride the Blue Bus to a graveyard shift job I did one summer.

Most times, yes; but usually just coinage.
Derp knows from experience
I know you have to be one of the most miserable s on the planet to have that viewpoint, tbh.
I telling them why are you asking for money for a
Hamburger when they have a $7’dollar pack of
Cigs in pocket. They say someone gave it to them. I say sell it for
A meal. They give me the death stare. Then they give me a sab story. I say you work and I feed you. They give me the death stare.
I tell them get lost then.
So you spread the wealth like socialist countries which have proved does not work!
Just imagine what it would be like with Bernie and 52 percent taxes
Silly talking point.

Strange. Must be some kind of fetish and they get off on that.
Who drives a merc and feels the need to humilate themselves by being a pure pest.
I offer food/fruit if I have some handy, never money
Some people make really good money doing it, tbh.
CC not worried about BigFinance theft/fraud, Trash's fraud, BigCorp/1% tax evasion and fraud, etc, etc
but
panhandlers really piss him off
STOLEN VALOR
Last summer it was really Hot so I gave a begger an extra water I had
Frustrating when drivers hold up traffic at the light
In Warsaw I was taking a tour and gypsy child was asking for handout. The tour guide told her to scram (in Polish) and then warned her she'll call the Police. Panhandling is really looked down upon there. Another time Gypsy guy asked me for money and I gave him cigarette instead. We chatted while smoking. I asked him where he was from and how locals treated him. His father was Polish.
I gave 2 chick fil a deluxe sandwiches on two separate days to the same old Mexican guy at 281 and 1604 chick fil a last year when I visited. Better ROI than Spurs tickets tbh. He really appreciated it and needed it.
The same money I spend on Spurs goes to in Forbes salary and those gay ass hoodies he buys
Nah the best scams are played by pros.
I knew a dude once who would dress up in a decent suit, shoes and leather briefcase.
He would go lurk at subway platforms during the AM and PM rushhour and pretend he left his wallet at the coffee shop/cab or whatever
He would easily get 10-20 dollars from fellow passengers who felt he was "one of them"
He was good at it,he was a tall good looking guy and he worked out all the time.
He would even score lots of phone numbers from women who gave him money but he never followed up on them because he easily make 200 hundred bucks a morning and then do it again during evening rushhour on a different platform
He had five bespoke suits he took immaculate care of dude looked like he walked straight out of Goldman Sachs.
Heard he was killed years later down in Florida,he'd gotten into running guns/drugs big time.
I rarely do anymore because there are opportunities for them to find necessities from a number of organizations if they seek them out. Some of the panhandlers don't want to adhere to the rules of some of these shelters, others may be unaware of them, and still others may figure it's a better hustle this way. The conservative fantasy that these people are all making $60K a year on street change is ludicrous though. These are still people in need and many of them are mentally ill.
I'll offer an extra burger or a slice of pizza if it's convenient (and if they accept).
Come to Austin sometime soon if you want to get a feel for what San Francisco must be like. It’s so out of control up here now with tent cities popping up in medians on riverside, overpasses having hundreds of homeless, and random spots behind commercial buildings homing dozens all over the place. I used to be ok giving a buck or two or certainly any leftovers from lunch, but now I don’t bother because it’s gotten so out of control and I don’t want to support it.
It's interesting a undo ented border crosser can be putting up sheetrock and taping/floating in 2 weeks but someone born here is walking around looking for handouts.
I never give my own money but sometimes I take money from others and give it to these people. It makes me feel morally superior.
Do you use bow and arrow? How's Little John?
