no, same problem no defense. Other teams will target him instead.

One issue with Today's NBA is that defenses just run picks at the top of the 3pt line until they get the matchup they want (in the half court when defenses are set). So they will usually target the weakest defensive player on a team. However, if the entire lineup is weak on defense (Spurs), then no matter who they target, help will be late or nonexistent and they will score or get fouled. Other teams can help around a weak defensive player with other long wings, we have none of those who can actually play D (besides maybe Lonnie, Murray or White). And if we play Lonnie/Murray/White/LMA/Mills, we won't have enough offense. Or Pop is just unwilling to try such a lineup.

man what is this hold that Bryn has on the Spurs that he's the one constant all season. Never out of the starting lineup. Is he going 100/100 on 3pt attempts in practice or something that just has this team impressed with him?
he's a nice role player but thats about it. his limit should be 20 minutes off the bench. and that should only be on a game where he's shooting well. otherwise 15 minutes tops.

did you mean to put Mills? i would say Derozan or Gay or Poeltl or even K Johnson instead of Mills but right on with the other 4.

But i wish we could see that lineup just to see how we were fare with it. yeah offensively we may not be the best but i'm sure that lineup can create easy points with good defensive effort.

Even 15 minutes is too much.

Mills, because even though DeMar is also a defensive liability, he's not really a shooter who can space the floor/punish defenses after Murray/White/Lonnie drive and kick it out. DeMar would just clog the lane because everybody sags on him, then run back and be a liability on defense. In this lineup he would be a liability and break the scheme.

And the idea is to have your best defensive guys (or the ones with the legnth and quicks to react on a switch) like Lonnie, White and Murray out there at the same time, to make up for the fact that opposing offenses will be targeting Mills. If there are multiple defensive liabilities out there they just put both of them in a pick and you're toast either way.

Some kind of mystic power he inherited from Matt Bonner. Apparently, worthless pieces of that posses this power can leach a contract for no good reason and, even more disgustingly, they even get starting roles.

The Popovich Gauntlet or some , I heard.

To be honest, I was really hoping that LW4's game, as the season progressed, would have vastly improved by leaps & bounds, therefore earning Pop's trust to put him into the starting lineup, replacing Forbes. Lonnie athleticism & skillset is definitely something the starting lineup could use, only if LW4 could be more consistent & learn to finish at the rim. I'm hoping that he will hone in on these matters over the summer & compete for a SL position for next season, but in the meantime, keep it the way it is, I guess. It's not who starts, but who finishes the game for a win. GSG!!!

Lonnie *has* improved though. Forbes meanwhile has declined, by a huge margin, since last season. And yet Lonnie has only once snatched the starting spot from Forbes, and it had nothing to do with his production. By all accounts, Patty (who fits the role of trigger-happy, spacing, no-D midget SG much better than Lonnie ever could) has had a much better season than Forbes as well, and has never started. What makes you think the productivity of non-Forbes players would jeopardize Forbes' starting role? Because no signs have pointed to that whatsoever. In fact, after Lonnie's best game by far of the season and a shooting display, he was back to playing 11m behind Marco in the rotation - it doesn't look like Pop sees it that way at all.

and about not having any player below 6'4 "on the roster, unless he is an offensive genius (like Trae or CP3) or has the potential to be a super shooter (like Curry or Dame).

Mills has been our best offensive player all season and at least tries on defense...
