Trump made at least three factually wrong statements last night.

He said that insurance companies had agreed to waive copays for COVID-19 treatment; he said that we would ban cargo from the EU; he said the EU travel ban would begin Friday at midnight. (It starts 24 hours later)

Seems Trump has had a hard time telling it straight to the American people from the beginning. Last night was the most important address of his Presidency and he still screwed it up.

Doesn't the White House have any fact-checkers?
Ok. Call those things out. Those inaccuracies are also not going alter the virus outcome.

Florida Sen. Rick Scott in Self-Quarantine After Potential Contact With Brazilian Official

Communications director for Brazilian President, who tested positive for the new coronavirus, also posted photo with President Trump

Florida Sen. Rick Scott said he placed himself in quarantine after he may have been in contact with the communications director for Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who tested positive for the new coronavirus after traveling to South Florida.

The communications director, Fábio Wajngarten, had traveled with Bolsonaro on a three-day U.S. trip and attended a meeting with President Donald Trump at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort. A statement from the president’s communications office on Thursday said Wajngarten's test results have come back positive

Your still thinking small. When the denominator is in the billions globally the mortality rate will average out. Unless the antivirals under clinical trials prove effective, then we'll see the difference between the haves and have nots.
Nope. Slowing infection rates by strict quarantines is the difference to avoid overwhelming health care providers. Some countries will have less than one percent deaths (of infected) while other countries will have 4%+ deaths of infected patients. If you are the one in the hospital hallway drowning from pneumonia while all the hospitals ventilators and ECMO machines are being used on other patients it won't matter to you what the global average is.

Ok. What is their mortality rate with the common flu?
Like 1 in 1000. This is way worse and it overwhelms the healthcare system because 20% are being hospitalized.

Exactly, now imagine that number is 2% instead of 0.1%.
    and far easier to spread

Seems like millions of Americans should already be infected based on how easy it is to spread.

    Dishonesty, incompetence and callousness?

    Check.

There's a good argument to be made that the lack of urgency and leadership will have had an effect. The studies are clear that aggressive testing/tracking plus prompt restrictions on public gatherings work.

"There will be exemptions for Americans who have undergone appropriate screenings, and these prohibitions will not only apply to the tremendous amount of trade and cargo, but various other things as we get approval. Anything coming from Europe to the United States is what we are discussing. These restrictions will also not apply to the United Kingdom."

It's obvious he was talking about exemptions and read "prohibitions" instead. The entire paragraph was about exemptions.

You keep building that narrative though.

not millions yet but certainly in 5 figures at this point with an exponential growth. It should double every 2 days.

Arguing for what Trump meant to say over what he actually said in his most important speech so far isn't the winning argument you think it is.

You wouldn't know, no one has tweeted it.

    https://www.dispatchhealth.com/blog/...-the-solution/

    Emergency Department Visits
    Data are for the U.S.

    Number of visits: 139.0 million
Number of injury-related visits: 40.0 million
Number of visits per 100 persons: 43.3
Number of emergency department visits resulting in hospital admission: 14.5 million
Number of emergency department visits resulting in admission to critical care unit: 2.0 million
Percent of visits with patient seen in fewer than 15 minutes: 40.4%
Percent of visits resulting in hospital admission: 10.4%
Percent of visits resulting in transfer to a different (psychiatric or other) hospital: 2.2%
Dr. Brian Monahan, the attending physician of Congress and the U.S. Supreme Court, said he expects 70 million to 150 million people in the United States will become infected with COVID-19, NBC News reported Wednesday, citing two sources.
    https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/11/up-t...ctor-says.html

Take the median (110MM cases) and, I'll be generous, say only half (55MM) seek emergency care. That's almost a 50% increase in the amount of visits in 3-9 months. Do you think the system can handle that?

Doesn't seem to prevent you from expressing harsh opinions about liberals, but where Trump is concerned it seems to be a strict taboo.
