Fat, lazy and otherwise unhealthy Americans blaming the POTUS for their lack of preparedness against a virus. Running to the stores to hoard toilet paper and hand sanitizers, ramen and ground beef. No single leader can save you from yourselves. Some of you will be the low hanging fruit, some won't. The virus will reap accordingly.
Coronavirus is not deadly. Trump should have sticked to his guns. He gave in like an obedient little puppy. He folded.

Trump declared national emergency and all the Trump s and rednecks finished what little food was left at the grocery stores.

"But daddy Trump wouldn't dare lie to us "

Trump pushing for flu shots and vaccines now. I wonder how many of his boomer low IQ supporters will go along and how many of them will realize that he's just another shill like his predecessors...bailouts.

    Let that sink in

Just because you disagree with these two things doesn't mean these are all the same people.

From my observations I would guess the Venn diagram of "people paying enough attention to criticize the President for objectively false claims" and "people hoarding toilet paper" doesn't have much crossover.
You're en led to your guesses.

If the economy bombed randomally then maybe there was an opening. But nearly every problem Trump will face has a built in excuse.

Anyway I expect voter turnout to be lower in 2020 and I think that is a huge advantage for the in bent. Many people will be too preoccupied to focus on "petty" political issues anyway. Democrats wasted too much of the 1st term to pull of a victory at the 11th hour

He misspoke. The correct terminology is... COVID-19 is deadly, but it is not lethal (such as Ebola or H5N1 Bird Flu) since the mortality rate for COVID-19 / SARS 2 is quite low.

Honestly have no idea what you're talking about lol
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonestown

It is the origin of the "you are drinking the koolaid" saying.

Drinking the Koolaid= doing what the cult leader says, even if it kills you

Many have observed that devotion to Trump has started to observe many parallels in cults to that of Trump devotion.

    1. The leader is the ultimate authority
If you’re not allowed to criticize your leader, even if the criticism is true, you’re probably in a cult.
    Check.

    2. The group suppresses skepticism
If you’re only allowed to study your organization through approved sources, you’re probably in a cult.
    Check.

    3. The group delegitimizes former members
If you can’t think of a legitimate reason for leaving your group, you’re probably in a cult.
    Check.

    4. The group is paranoid about the outside world
If your group insists the end of the world is near, you’re probably in a cult.
Cults position themselves as the sole refuge from an evil outside world that is intent on their destruction. Cults thrive on conspiracy theories, catastrophic thinking, and persecution complexes.
    Check.

    5. The group relies on shame cycles
If you need your group in order to feel worthy, loved, or sufficient, you’re probably in a cult.
Cult leaders trap members in shame cycles by imposing abnormally strict codes of conduct (usually prescriptions about diet, appearance, sex, relationships, media), guilting members for their shortcomings, and then positioning themselves as the unique remedy to the feelings of guilt which they themselves created.
    hnmm. No.

    6. The leader is above the law
If you’re held to a different moral standard, specifically in regard to sex, you’re probably in a cult.
A prevalent idea among cult leaders is that they are above the law, be it human or divine. This idea allows them to exploit their followers economically and sexually without repercussions.
    Check.

    7. The group uses “thought reform” methods
If your serious questions are answered with cliches, you’re probably in a cult.
Indoctrination or “brainwashing” is the process through which a cult slowly breaks down a person’s sense of iden y and ability to think rationally. Behaviors like excessive fasting, prayer, hypnosis, scripture reading, chanting, meditation, or drug usage can all be used to increase a person’s vulnerability to the leader’s suggestions.
    hmmm, no as well.

    8. The group is elitist
If your group is the solution for all the world’s problems, you’re probably in a cult.
Cults see themselves as the enlightened, chosen, and elect organization tasked with radically transforming individual lives and the entire world.
    Close one, but check.

    9. There is no financial transparency
If you’re not allowed to know what the group does with their money, you’re probably in a cult.
A group that refuses to disclose its finances is a huge red flag. Ethical organizations have nothing to hide. Cult leaders tend to live opulently while their followers are required to make financial sacrifices. Members are often encouraged to pay their offerings even if it means putting their families at risk.
    Check.

    10. The group performs secret rites
If there are secret teachings or ceremonies you didn’t discover until after you joined, you’re probably in a cult.
Cults use secret rituals as rites of passage that solidify a member’s loyalty to the group. Initiation into these rites usually only comes after a member has undergone certain tests or made adequate financial contributions.
Not that I am aware of.

Trump devotion gets seven out of 10.

Care to make a gentleman's wager on that?

Even with this virus bouncing around, Turn out will be VERY heavy, and substantially higher than 2016.

Pick a charity. I will donate $100 bucks to that charity if turnout is at all lower than 2016, based on nationwide vote totals.

If it is more than 5% higher in 2020 than it was in 2016, you have to donate $100 to your local food bank.

Okay. We will discuss this more as November nears. What factors do you think encourage turnout?

Visceral hatred of Donald Trump and slavish devotion to Donald Trump.

There are more Democrats than Republicans, and Democrats tend to vote at lower rates, so increases in turnout almost invariably favor Democrats. By November, we will be well down on the curve for the COVID-19 virus.

I have never, ever seen Democrats more motivated and organized.

    (edit)

I think the turnout is already baked in. I don't see much affecting it, even with everything going on. Remember the wager is over turnout, not who wins the election itself.

Based on the primaries low turnout hasn't been the case. It's been higher than 2016 primaries. And even the last sets of primaries which took place in the middle of every city shutting down it saw decent numbers. Definitely down by this year's standards but higher than 2016.

I think a lot of people know Trump is going to lose. Some Republicans voted for Bernie to be s, and some voted Democrat so they could have a voice in the Democratic nominee/next president. Quite a few people who have been lifelong Republicans have been interviewed about their choices for just that reason.
