4150 projected deaths to 2025. This change from Apr. 1 to Apr. 6.

    Even bigger reduction for CA.

Blaming the governors is currently fashionable among the President's supporters. They're partially right, state officials should share the blame for disinvesting in public health and slow-footed responses to a fast moving pandemic, but the whole point of the exercise is to deflect from Trump's catastrophic failure to lead and respond re:COVID-19, which is a threat to the whole country, not just this state or that.

You're just being a huge asshole on this point.

Regardless of your political affiliation, you don't want to be on a respirator. Trust me.

    Odds of what?

What are you saying your odds are if you are in bad enough shape to be put on a respirator but refuse?

The Casinos here in CA are already talking about reopening in May.

And they're sovereign land, so the State can't issue an order for them to close. Only the Federal government has authority over them.
The State can prohibit entry/exit to the land though.

There are a lot of variables though. The person, age, what type of accident or event led to you being put on it, etc.

Frankly, it takes some severe tone-deafness to still be a POTUS supporter, especially when it has anything to do with this thing.

And if you're in that bad shape and refuse the vent?

    What are your odds then?

Can we agree the odds are substantially less without it? Literally the respirator is breathing for you, that's all the machine does.

Obviously. If you are a young, healthy person, I would do it. It would be a waste on me, tho.

Sure. But this the sad you're witnessing in NYC. It's sad, but it is what it is.

    A super quick google search..

You can say if you have Coronovirus and put on one, then your chances might not be so good. But that's specific.

You cant generalized and say everyone in the world who gets put on a ventilatior for x reason only has 10% chance of survival. Not true.

I don't know what's sad about 1 in 5, maybe 1 in 10 people that are sick being saved by a respirator. Even in the worst, 10% case, that's > 950 lives saved at this point (If my math checks out)

Well I am assuming you're talking about ventilators in general, not this virus specifically. If the latter than my bad.

I'm not following this thread from when I left it a few hours ago.

Bro you have a strange way of dealing with the stress of all this and I can forgive it because its hard to deal with all of this. But don't blame others because they don't grasp at straws that you are. If you want to be comforted I'm not sure why you'd ever coe to this forum. You have a long history of ting on science in this forum and that is the context people are going to view your posts with. Like it or not, this is what you've done to yourself.

I give you the benefit of the doubt here because it really does seem like this whole situation has ed you up, but you need SOME self awareness about how you've acted for over a decade now and why people act the way they do towards you and your post at this time.
