The problem is how to determine acceptable deaths when you don't have the real data in the first place? The number of deaths due to coronavirus in the US is probably already double the official numbers since only deaths in hospitals are reported.
I agree with you that the economy is important but the real problem here is the lack of preparation of some countries among which the US that makes it hard to avoid confinement. We'll have a little idea soon since some countries are deconfining right now in Europe, we'll see if a second wave is coming.

You do know most of the countries hardly have any test kits and the ones they do have are from CCP which have been shown to be worthless. So you will see the number rise dramatically in the USA as we will be testing significantly higher then most countries. I can now go to my local Dr and get a blood test for Corona and get the results back in 2 or 3 days.
