Democrats are so obsessed with name recognition. Hurr durr I remember Hillary Clinton from when Bill was president hurr durr I remember Biden he was Obama’s VP.
Obama was surprisingly popular with swing state voters, I think. Weren't a lot of MAGAs ironically former Obama voters? So maybe the logic is they hope to woo back those former dems who voted for Trump or sat out due to their hatred of Hillary.
Voters are obsessed with name recognition too.
You could make the case that an active spouse of a President has more experience fit for the office than just about anyone else.

She’s said multiple times that she wants nothing to do with politics. The Dems are trying to recruit her because the other possible VP picks are either too unlikable for voters (Klobuchar and Kamala) or too liberal for the DNC to stomach (Abrams).
Because she's lazy and unqualified. Anyone bringing her up as a real possibility is a hack. ElNono, well he's pretty hacky.

Yeah he was running away with the primary at that point, it was a stupid risk to take especially when there weren’t any great female VP candidates available.

I didn't realize we were talking strategy. You asked why Mic e Obama would be qualified for President and that's what I was speaking to. It's true regardless of whether a bunch of re s think a reality show billionaire (with huge name recognition, btw) is a better choice.
But if we're comparing her to Hillary, Mic e destroys her in likeability and just about every other electability measure. And she'd only be running as VP.

She'd be a shoo-in for POTUS if she had any resume whatsoever because she's buddied up with GWB and her affiliation with the more moderate and highly likable Barrack. If I was the opposition I would not take her lightly.
