Is there a Pascal type player out there? One who is crazy athletic but just started playing b-ball and doesn’t really have the know how but has an amazing sense of work ethic. I mean I know I’m dreaming, but I would rather draft someone like that. The Spurs can teach a guy to play b-ball. They can’t teach long, quick, and explosive.

But I know we are drafting one of the Euro point guards (either the German or the French) and strangely I’m ok with it.
Luka is 6'10", with an insane 38" vert, so, may already have that covered. That's a 1.5" inch higher vert, and he was drafted 3 years younger than Siakam, at 19.

Ive been watching a lot of film on this draft class and wow what a really poor class. Only one or two stand outs to me. Thats looking at players #1 through #25 on mocks. Even that Serbian player who just declared looks average.

It’s him or McDaniels for me. The two best fits for the Spurs at 11 and I’m torn between both.

I don't. He basically projects as a bigger Forbes. Sure, he's a 2.5, but he's still a shooter suited to defending off ball wings.

A SF with 6'10" really isnt impressive. They have to be really skilled to be worth the pick. Vassell looks like he will just be average.
If Vassell is the next Green, that's outstanding value at 11. Of course it'd be preferable if he were a 3.5 as opposed to a 2.5, but then they'd have little to no chance of him being available at 11.

You either draft your own 3 and D wings or you end up having to drastically overpay for marginal ones, like Carroll.

This team desperately needs a superstar or star to build around, but at the same time, you can't force it or project that onto every raw, athletic project.

You also can't assume all of recent 1sts (including Poeltl) are going to be long term fixtures, because the odds are against it.

But is he as explosive and long as Siakam? Really don’t know

    Siakam's wingspan is 7'3.25''; Samanic's is 6'10.5''.

His athleticism and ball skills are definitely reminiscent of Siakam though.

there is no sense to draft hampton while we have murray. Spurs desperately need 3&D or a PF/C. So the best guys are vassel and bey. Neismith is great but with him spurs would have the shortest backcourt in nba. The steal of the draft may be Patrick Williams bc hes projected as a late 1st. Imo spurs should trade for him via our 2nd + keldon/samanic/white
A lot of bigger wingmen, SF's are available later in the draft, so wouldn't the better option be to attempt to trade down? This draft is considered weak and that might effect them finding a trade partner. Still, I would rather they trade down and find a better fit than getting the "best player available" on a guard loaded team.
