As a vocal conservative Trump critic, he is likely to siphon Never-Trumper conservative votes that might have otherwise gone to Biden. Donald Trump is the biggest issue of the 2020 election. I'd frankly be more comfortable with a Libertarian candidate who was a Trump apologist. But none of this is scientific. I don't think Amash would cost Biden the election either way.
The big difference, of course, is that there are 25+ women accusing Trump, vs. one so far against Biden. Either way, being accused of a sex offense doesn't make someone a sex offender. And I'm sorry to the #MeToo movement but there are more important things at stake here than one person's justice on an alleged offense from 30 years ago. Both are important. Dealing with ugly media media furores is part of the job Biden seeks, but maybe he's well served to bunker down, let his spokesperson deny it and stay out of the spotlight.
If this sort of thing was germane to consider Kavanaugh or Trump for high office, it still is.
I was far less concerned with Kavanaugh's college activities than I was the probability that he would legislate fringe right-wing causes from the bench. As for Trump, his behavior towards women displayed a pattern and the accusations were concerning due to their mul ude, but still not disqualifying in and of themselves without proof or conviction.
