"WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump lauded Gov. Greg Abbott in the Oval Office on Thursday for freeing a Dallas salon owner who had defied his own efforts to keep nonessential businesses closed, and for reopening Texas businesses early.

“She is free today,” Abbott said, explaining the executive order he issued earlier in the day “saying that in the state of Texas, no one can be put behind bars because they’re not following an executive order. So that includes the woman.”

“Good,” said Trump, adding, "I was watching the salon owner and she looked so great, so professional, so good. And she was talking about her children. She has to feed her children.”......"

"Dr. Deborah Birx, the White House coronavirus coordinator, suggested that Abbott may not allow nail salons to open immediately after all..

In discussing Texas’ approach on Thursday, she said, she questioned the plan to include nail salons “in the first opening wave because you can’t really physical distance.... He agreed, and we’ve moved forward together.”

"People with spinal cord injuries have weaker immunosuppression capabilities than the general population, according to the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.

Wearing masks to mitigate coronavirus' spread has become a polarizing issue in traditionally Republican-leaning Texas. So far Abbott has sided firmly with those less concerned about contracting the virus and more concerned with reopening businesses.

Abbott is one of several governors, nearly all Republican, who have decided to proceed with reopening in their states despite not having reached the diminished rates of infection recommended by the CDC before reopening. On Wednesday, Dallas County reported its highest number of new coronavirus cases to date, eclipsing the previous record, set on Tuesday.

Trump has also refused to wear a mask, against the guidance of federal health officials. ...

Men should do grocery shopping during pandemic as women take too long, Japanese mayor says

    https://edition.cnn.com/world/live-n...db2d2bf90faf18

"Women take a longer time grocery shopping because they browse through different products and weigh out which option is best," Matsui told reporters at a coronavirus news conference in Osaka on Thursday.
"Men quickly grab what they're told to buy so they won't linger at the supermarket -- that avoids close contact with others."

Hm, they were arrested April 15.

What could possibly be the reason nothing was done about them?

    It's a mystery!

    We'll see
California has identified nail salons as a source for many COVID infections. Good job upping the kill count Abbott and Trash.
