He certainly absolved himself of any leadership role when it counted, so he'd take a pass on civil war too.

And you would support his doing that by default.
Trump wins because he triggered you. Why don't you understand that everyone who is arguing politics is part of the problem? Do you really think a political party has your best interests in mind? ....

The real question should be why are you so focused on blaming one persons supposed reaction to a problem they are reacting to?

Why not start with the issues that led to the virus in the first place. Solve that problem. Then move on.

Otherwise you are blaming govt for people getting old, choosing to be obese, smoking, etc....

Sorry. Trump is president. He was the one in the position to lead the response in a timely manner. He did the opposite. Don't pretend he was helpless. He made a specific choice. He was wrong.

We cannot control China. Our government can control its response to a pandemic. The virus is already here.

No. Other governments have handled this much better and they also have old fat people who smoke. You can't deny the US government failed by comparison.

Blame other country leaders as well, then. Blaming someone for being put into a situation is the reason you are all arguing in the first place. Just like what trump is doing. So, you are the same.

No one is taking personal responsibility, like you. Nor addressing the main issue. But as I already pointed out, you blaming one person makes your opinion even more biased.

Keep on blaming. Another pandemic will come on through, then you can keep blaming one person rather than addressing the problem.

Your main man B GATES would agree that wet markets need to be the focus and curbed. You can blame who you want but the disease is caused by poor hygiene, just like I said in Feb.

No one is taking personal responsibility, like you. Nor addressing the main issue. But as I already pointed out, you blaming one person makes your opinion even more biased.
Plenty of blame to go around. Why are you demanding personal responsibility from me (For what? Hand washing? Done.) and not the president of the United States?

Keep on blaming. Another pandemic will come on through, then you can keep blaming one person rather than addressing the problem.
Pandemics can start from places other than wet markets. It would be great if we could shut those down but that does nothing to the virus that is already here.

We cannot control China. The virus is already here. Closing wet markets doesn't do anything to the virus that is already here.

This is why you are terrible at arguing. Start by looking up these diseases https://www.healthline.com/health/zoonosis#types

Just to clarify, you do understand that these diseases are mostly caused by animal to human transmission and can be prevented... https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.liv...-diseases.html

you do understand that if wet markets were not allowed there would be no virus, right?

Cardiovascular disease is preventable yet the number 1 killer in USA. Who is at fault here? The president? Don't blame others. Do like I said 4 months ago. Be more hygienic.

Cardiovascular disease doesn't start in wet markets and spread from country to country.

    Do you understand this?

Why does Trump have no responsibility for this government's response?

He does. Just like every other leader of every country. But to blame every leader in a reactionary manner, without properly addressing the cause, is as insane as the cardiovascular disease issue. Everyone should take personal responsibility to solve the problem. Blaming others only delays the conversation of how to fix the problem. Why don't you get this?

The presidency is getting way too much credit.

Chump, obviously you feel Trump is at fault, SO, if you were president right now, what would you do?

What do you think we could do at this moment that would benefit the country as a whole?

    Serious question.

    Do you understand this?
Agree, but I never said that.

Did the virus begin from animal to human transmission? If so, not one persons fault. The fault should lie with: where occurred, who transmitted, who was infected.

Even when this current virus calms down, you will still have high risk from wet markets introducing another strain of virus.

So again, blaming trump is not the way to go unless you are more about party politics than human good.

Finally and maybe more importantly, you argue that people should wear masks and stay at home because they are putting others at risk, but you still refuse to blame wet markets that are operating today putting us all at more risk for many other diseases?

It makes no sense how you argue but can't see bigger picture.

See, that's a question that misses the point. The most critical time for the president to act was January and February when he had the intel and the warnings and the time and the literal playbook to follow. That's when PPE procurement should've been ramped up and new sources found through contracts or the DPA, for example.

Now? In the middle of this show I would work to national standards and goals for testing, contact tracing and reporting so we can get a clear picture of the virus' spread and better address the hotpots that are popping up all over the country. Clear guidance for reopening economies with data driven goals and triggers would be a priority. I would never fall into happy talk or magical thinking. I would lead by example wearing a mask when not directly addressing the mic. I would enlist the help of W who is probably the biggest pandemic hawk in US history. I would not gaslight the American people. I wouldn't tell governors they were on their own for procuring PPE then outbid them and steal their incoming shipments. I wouldn't be spreading conspiracy theories.

That's off the top of my head. I can think of more if you need more.

Nope. Once this virus calms down, we need to prepare for the next one the way we failed to for this one. The "Spanish" flu most likely started in Kansas. It's a great idea to shut down wet markets if it's possible but that won't end pandemics.

all of these are reactions to things that will happen. So you want the world to prepare to have tests for diseases they don't know exist, so they can continue to allow the risk of new diseases to occur?

Kind of like you want doctors to prescribe pills for heart disease rather than to educate and eradicate the disease? Doesn't really make sense.

You promote the WHO, a group that would ultimately agree with eliminating the risk of virus rather than being reactionary.

You know wet markets are available in the US, right? And you understand that animal ag in the us has caused disease, right? But instead of discussion of the root cause you just want to test when people do get it?

No, it's accepting that heart disease is going to be a thing no matter how educated people are and having the medicine and equipment ready to treat it.

Every single wet market in the world could down right now and pandemics will still occur in the future. You are acting like wet markets are the only source and cannot see the big picture.
