You said 10,000 would die tops.
From coronavirus. Which, you are correct, my count would be more inflated since almost all deaths are a result of comorbi y.
IMHE models predicting second wave beginning in September for Texas, Florida, Arizona. But not for hard hit states like New York and New Jersey.
Based on what -- I'm not sure.
Chumpettes care. Every reported death is a point for Zombie Rapist.

Permanent nervous and immune system damage? It won't be the first virus to do so.
the same guys who have been insisting that everything is fine outdoors are now saying public health officials should say not everything is fine outdoors.
point taken
though i was referring to those in leadership positions such as the white house team, the CDC, etc. the ones acting as a point of authority for the general public

At this point, I think it's pick your poison. Which is better...a couple hundred thousand deaths (many who were in pretty bad shape) or millions of unemployed and struggling to get food and pay rent/mortgage?
So same old, same old?
Also, I'd argue a good chunk were not neccesarily "in bad shape". Many of these people wouldn't have died any time soon if they never caught Covid.
Agree that a "good chunk" weren't in bad shape. But a good chunk were. I'm not dismissing the tragedy of these deaths. Buy I'm wondering which option in the long term is preferable.
Probably get both
Not dismissing, but minimizing...perhaps?
Honestly, to answer your question - neither and it doesn't matter.
You can't shut people in or make them do something they simply don't want to do. A lot more people are going to die no matter what option we take.
All we can hope for in the meantime is treatments/vaccine and/or herd immunity.
I agree. It's an unprecedented situation in our lifetimes. Anyone who says their solution would work better doesn't really know. And we actually won't ever really know because plenty will die from COVID and plenty will be thrown into poverty.
And it will likely be impossible to definitely look back and say that one plan of action was better than another. Without Monday morning quarterbacking every single aspect.
That's fair based on how I posted but I wasn't at all trying to minimize the deaths. Agree with the bold.
