For emphasis, we're talking about available hospital beds. Not total number of hospital beds.
    https://www.ksat.com/news/local/2020...numbers-means/
City officials also reported that 122 patients are hospitalized, 54 are in the intensive care unit and 25 are on ventilators. There are 79% of ventilators and 31% of staffed hospital beds available.
My guess is that isn't total "available" beds, but total "available ICU" beds, based on how the data is put together.

Just FYI. See my previous post proving out how the data is compiled.

I alread explained that you are right, data manipulation for 1 day does not bother me, nor should it be used in cliff jumping
Texas tested a record 45,233 on Thursday. 1826 positive.

    Or not.

    per the txdshs.maps.
    Available hospital beds - 1495
So how many of those beds are in the maternity ward? chemical dependency care?
    Can you not read? TXDSHS
    So you don't know.

I think the critical care ICU beds are going to fill pretty quickly. The ICU beds are where people who need urgent intervention go.

The most recent utilization report I could find listed for 2016 showed 5396 total beds for Bexar county, with 64.5% occupied. 1917 beds four years ago, likely before a few were scaled back due to closures or consolidations, or even just more utilization for existing due to population growth.
    https://www.dshs.state.tx.us/chs/hosp/Utilization16.xls (line 60, H60 *O60)

Those 1917 beds include ALL beds of every kind, i.e. maternity etc, and is probably a bit lower in 2020. You can't really count a maternity ward bed as being "available" for a covid patient who needs a respirator, so you are probably looking at a pretty narrow slice of beds in the total that actually could be used appropriately. I doubt the "adult day-care" beds help either.

FWIW: here is the non-comprehensive list of bed types included in that total:

Remainder here at the data call definition sheet (PDF):
    https://dshs.texas.gov/chs/hosp/Forms/AHA16.pdf

So unless you have some specific data on which beds might be useful, talking about total beds is kind of ed. My guess is that the news source showing a small number of beds probably has that specific data.

If that is your figure, you think that "sports medicine" beds are going to save people who need ICU beds and ventilators? maybe Full-field digital mammography beds?

Do tell. How many of your total are actually going to be useful here. Bull has been called.
There will not be a need for them to be useful. You are being obtuse, yet again because you dont understand how the the data is being used or collected. You're still ignorant even though I've explained to you the process that is occurring with elective surgery and mandatory testing.

People admitted for covid is flat. People admitted with covid is rising.

    Bring in the ships.

"4 more COVID-19 deaths reported in Bexar County, 230 new cases confirmed, total count at 4,242"

Officials also said the area’s daily positivity rate, which is calculated by the number of positive tests conducted in a day divided by the number of lab tests conducted in a day, has doubled from 5.8% on June 7 to approximately 10-11% Saturday.

The recent surge is also occurring across Texas, as the state saw more than 2,000 new cases Saturday, along with another 18 deaths, and had a record number of people with COVID-19 hospitalized for the second day in a row.

“We’re seeing a e. This is not gradual,” said Dawn Emerick, San Antonio Metro Health Director.Although health experts are increasingly concerned about numbers growing even more due to protests, Emerick said the current e is more likely due to large gatherings around Memorial Day Weekend.
“We still have another week to go before we would see anything from the protests,” she said. “It’s too early.”
They're doing contact tracing. Dawn and Metro Health probably has a better grasp on the situation than you, Bunker Darrin.

    Good day
This has yet to be proven. Cases in us are trending and have been trending down for weeks. This junk can still be contributed to increased testing, hotspot chasing, and electives surgeries and hospital testing. These ab tests increase test count, pct pos, and hospitalizations.
