In New Orleans, protesters tore down a statue of John McDonogh -- a merchant and slave owner who died in 1850.
After damaging the statue, protesters loaded it onto a trucks and took it to the banks of the Mississippi River where it was thrown into the water, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
McDonogh gifted $2 million in his will to the cities of Baltimore and New Orleans to build public schools. Over 30 schools were built in New Orleans with his name and a number after it, according to the New Orleans historical society.
So is this acceptable to ?
Time to bring the firing squad back or hanging for crimes and get the crimes to stop !
Protesting is one thing destroying people’s income and jobs and building is anything thing
This criminals should pay all money to bring it back or off with their head !
What are your feelings about the George police in this incident, ducks
I'm ok with ditching statues of slavers.
All against, register here below --
Books should definitely stay... a good way to remember what racist epic fail looked like
I thought all reminders should be destroyed. No?
Who said that? Give your list.
I was talking about participation trophies.
No, just the tributes. Like statues and names of places. Not information.
See how easy it is to separate them? No strawmen necessary.
But muh y nuggets and frosty
I dunno about "all reminders" or who made that claim. I certainly don't oppose anything that glorifies racism and slavery.
Let's put a statue of bin Laden at Ground Zero
No.they just cost a bunch of innocent people their jobs for no reason. Wendys itself will be minimally impacted by this, but some employees are probably living pay check to pay check and unable to find another job. Just ing re ed
He made $2 million on the backs of slaves. Giving back that $2 million to the community was the least he could do.
Gfy, tbh
Not to take away from the stupidity of burning the place down, but I'm pretty sure their unemployment claims will be approved.
No wonder you’re a dumbass.
If you can’t tell the difference between a statue and a book then you might have it worse than I thought.
It takes forever in georgia to be approved. Took a friend of mine almost 6 weeks. My concern is what if they cant find another job on the other end of three months they get unemployment? Its not like theres a ton of jobs out there right now and theres going to be less overall on the other side of this pandemic due to soo many businesses shutting down

People spreading misinformation to increase unrest. Don't even need Russians this time around![]()
It's a difficult situation. IMO, there's never any justification for violence or looting or anything of the sort.
On the other hand, these are people that are rightly scared for their lives every time they come across a police officer, so it's also difficult to put this in the context of a rational reaction. Even more so because they keep getting promises that the system is going to change, and it never happens.
