Graphics are nice for console, though i wish i had the option like in ROTR to prefer performances over graphics, because 30fps hurts my eyes now especially with all the damn motion blur

the gameplay is on point with the first, and i really enjoy 3rd person shooter/stealth games like this so i am glad not much was changed. the delivery of the story can be intense at times. the banter between characters while they're doing stuff is nice.


there is a lot of time for the story to suck i guess like i said i'm only 4 hours in but most of the leak complaints i'm not really feeling yet tbh. i wont post anything about the spoilers in this thread since its not a spoiler thread but i get that people were upset with how Joel's perception of others went from being extremely cautious to seemingly trusting, though given what is happening prior to him meeting Abby i think it can be explained as "not many other choices" i guess

Sorry man, PoorStation 4 doesn't have the cpu to run many games at 60 fps. PS5 will though.

I started playing too, just got to Seattle, about 2-3 hours in. The game is a technical masterpiece, especially in what's an aging console, tbh... but it's a heavily story driven game, if you're more into action, this might be too slow a pace...

Then there's the stuff everyone heard about (no spoilers) like clam bumpers, weed, a synagogue... I know who won't be playing this game lmao

I can't make myself pay $60 for a 20 hour game. Normally don't like to buy PS4 games for more than $20 but I'll probably jump on TLOU Part II as soon as I can find it for $30 though. I always really enjoy Naughty Dog games, but I play them once and never touch them again after. Whereas almost everything I buy from FromSoft, Atlus, or Sega I'm down for multiple playthroughs.

BB is a little bit of a trophy hunter, such as myself so there's that.

As I understand it, the online component is not in yet. One thing I hated about the first game was the emphasis on multiplayer. More than half the trophies were dedicated toward online.

Honestly, I'm not a big trophy hunter unless I'm really into the game. I think my only platinums on PS4 have been Horizon Zero Dawn, NieR Automata, Persona 5, Persona 5 Royal, God of War, and maybe Yakuza Kiwami (I forget if I got it or not, though probably did since I fought and beat Jo Amon). Actually never did get the plat in Bloodborne since it requires three playthroughs.

Like I said in the other thread, just a bunch of bitter losers down-voting something they had no intention of playing because they got triggered by a few leaks. The game will never be as beloved as the first, and the storyline/characters may have taken a few steps back, but it sure as isn't a 3/10 game.

0 and Kiwami 2 are amazing, Kiwami 1 is really good, 3 was kind of so-so (but it's widely regarded as the weakest in the series), while I haven't played 4-6 yet. I have heard 5 is great though and ing huge and then 6 has the same newer engine used in Kiwami 2. All four of the games I have played in the series have great stories and top notch voice acting, plus these games have hilarious side quests and some of them even have Sega arcade games built into them that you can play by going into Sega arcades around the city. Combat is pretty fun too, kind of feels like a Streets of Rage style brawler brought into the 2010's. Getting platinums is a huge pain in the ass though in this series and I'd advise against trying to get them. Also it's funny, in the hostess clubs some of the girls you sit with are real life porn stars. Like Kana Momonogi is one of the girls to date in Yakuza 3.

Hoping that 0-2 bundle goes on sale in the Steam sale tomorrow so I can play the games in Japanese (eg sub les and UI in Japanese, not just voice). Can't play them in full Japanese on PS4/PS3 unless you buy the Japanese versions of the game.

If you want to wait there is a big Steam Sale rumored to start tomorrow so you might be able to get 0-2 on PC if you prefer playing there. 0 and Kiwami both run 60 fps on PS4 though, but Kiwami 2 is 30 on PS4 while it's 60 fps or better on PC if you have a decent video card, say RX 580 / GTX 1660 / GTX 1070 or better. None of 3-6 has been announced for PC yet though... however 7 has. But 7 is called Yakuza Like a Dragon in the US and is a turn based RPG with a new character Ichiban instead of Kiryu.

Imo yakuza 0 has the 2nd best story of all time. Only behind suikoden 2.
