All Trump had to do was man up, acknowledge the virus for what it is and not put his precious economy over people's lives. And even if we fall into a depression, people would be sympathetic towards him if he handled it correctly. Instead he goes the macho route while the bodies continue to pile up. It's the worst handling of a crisis in my lifetime by a sitting POTUS. Even Bush, who was an overall terrible POTUS, handled 9-11 very well.

I think issues shifted but I expect another close nail biter. Hillary had 'first woman' bump but Biden has 'Obama's VP' and will likely take female/black VP.

On Trump's side he gains from recent riots but losses the way he handled Coronavirus (and economy decline).

I think the whole "Trump will make run during debates" is overstated. Data seems to illustrate debates have little overall sway in this day and age of media. I think vast majority of voters already made up their mind.

Early travel ban was forward thinking.

I changed my opinion. I went into full quarantine. Missed work and then we went remote. I also scored it economy greed.

Then we are about to reopen and protest begin. It reiterated my stance that fastest way to unrest/revolution in America is economic. Now I am changing my view. Trump foresaw what an increasingly unemployed public was brewing.

I don't give him much credit for the travel ban because he did not stop Americans from coming and going to China. Closed the front door and left the back door open, full of Corona draft But I think probably any POTUS would have bungled the travel ban, TBH.

What I don't like is the macho sh$t from him. I hate wearing the stupid mask, too, but the science proves it works when everyone does it. He sends mixed messages by never wearing one out of fear of looking soft. Optics matter and words matter. I now know people who have lost loved ones from the virus.

And even with the protests...they were going to happen regardless of who is POTUS, but he wasn't exactly showing much compassion towards the cause, which is real, just overblown some.

I agree with your post. The anti science is embarrassing working in STEM but I like the visa kick out

I saw one data argument that upwards of 50% of Universities will disappear within 10 years. Seems high but I could see 30%. Many going heavy online.

Foreign students not longer paying the out of state tuition. Bloated course work forcing students to cross majors and attend overpaid Faculty

The lack of leadership during protest also falls on Trump' s shoulders. He has allowed naive local leadership to hang themselves. And this strategy will likely continue as many tactics recently viewed "liberating" are now annoying

Experts condemn Trump’s ‘insane’ July 3rd Mt. Rushmore fireworks show

President Donald Trump is forcing through his plan to headline a fireworks show at Mount Rushmore

    concerns include the coronavirus pandemic,

    threat of setting off wildfires,

water contamination from fireworks chemicals, and

limited access to and from the park.
it’s insane to explode fireworks over flammable material and ponderosa pine vegetation,”

Trump will get his way, fulfilling his years-long dream. 7500 tickets are being distributed by the state’s tourism department.

The president and his re-election campaign team will fly to South Dakota and Montana for a four-day “high-dollar” fundraising trip, followed by Trump’s July 3 fireworks show. Tickets to the fundraising events cost between $250 and $100,000.

“Fireworks shows,” the Post notes, “had been held at the memorial between 1998 and 2009, until U.S. Geological Survey scientists determined the activities

    left high levels of a
toxic chemical called perchlorate in drinking water used by the 3 million people who visit the memorial annually.”

Trump: “What can burn? It’s stone.” Dumb as a bag of STONES

Carly Fiorina, former GOP POTUS Candidate, says she will vote for Joe Biden

Republicans who say Donald Trump should lose in November but insist they won’t vote for Joe Biden aren’t being honest, Carly Fiorina argues.

Fiorina was a Republican candidate for president just four years ago, and was briefly Ted Cruz’s prospective running mate. Trump needs to go, she says—and that means she’s voting for Biden.

The Rule of Law Is Being Gutted Because ‘Moderate’ Republicans Stayed Silent

Never-Trumpers and other GOPers could have stopped the rise of people like William Barr, Michael Flynn, and Neomi Rao—but they didn’t.

Michael Flynn, William Barr, and Neomi Rao (the Clarence Thomas acolyte plucked to fill Brett Kavanaugh’s seat on the D.C. court of appeals) are

all part of the same rot.

They all believe that achieving the supremacy of the Republican agenda justifies any means—including deceit and corruption.

the prominent Republicans who are concerned today said nothing when these obvious bad actors were nominated to their positions.

Rao knows that Ruth Bader Ginsburg is 87 years old, and Rao wants her job.

This opinion is an open audition for a nomination to the Supreme Court, should an opening become available.

IMF says global economic collapse caused by coronavirus will be even worse than feared

Emerging recovery likely to disappoint even if countries refuse to shut down during a resurgence of the coronavirus

    the
coronavirus pandemic has caused more widespread damage than expected and will be followed by a sluggish recovery.

The global economy will shrink this year by 4.9 percent, worse than the
3 percent decline predicted in April,

The U.S. economy, the world’s largest, is expected to shrink this year by 8 percent.

the strength of the recovery is highly uncertain because there is no solution yet to the health crisis.

By the end of next year, the pandemic will have cost the global economy $12.5 trillion in lost output

What does this election have to do with 2016? I'm at your conspiracy.
Do you suppose all those backwoods voters suddenly died off of Covid or something? They still exist and 99.9% are still voting Trump and being less than candid about it when asked.
