Can someone explain why these states have such a high death per 1M population ratio vs other states? (Texas is at 140)

I don't mean speculate what other states will do eventually, but why these states are so high. I have highlighted the southern states for sake of climate difference.
Better question: why are the other so low?

Not all states have had their first wave. Ones that have yet to experience widespread incidence will obviously be lower. Over time this will change as other states "catch up"

Texas does not count "probable". Other stats may or may not count that. Texas actual rate of the death will be at least twice what its report official tally is for that reason.

This isn't difficult. Over time most states will see rates fall closer and closer to the mean, which will go up as states experience their initial outbreaks. We are getting better at treating, so one would expect the follow ons to have lower incidence of fatalities, all things equal.

CDC lag time is going to be jack because the Trump administration took the data. Because... reasons.

Speculation. I knew some would do this and this isn't what I was asking.

Do you think the other states have low deaths per population? You don't think it's population density?

So you know all the probables and that they double the count if actually counted as positives?

Nope. That's you at week 11 crowing about how excess deaths have returned to normal. They haven't. The data just hasn't come in yet.

lololol you cant even make an argument with your post because its so out of context with the original chart.

    All cause death. Per day.

Then you respond with a flu pneumonia weekly fatality chart when you know that the definition of a covid fatality. Your response is laughable and weak minded.

So you didn't really want an answer. Got it.

It only "speculation" if you dont' understand how time works. You people seem to have a problem with that these days.

I posted the pneumonia deaths to show an example of the CDC's lagged data. It works for those deaths just as it does for deaths from all causes.

    This is a concern

The US Food and Drug Administration on Saturday announced it has issued an emergency use authorization that allows the laboratory Quest Diagnostics to pool samples from up to four individuals to test for Covid-19

In late June, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Ins ute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said the White House Coronavirus Task Force was "seriously considering" pool testing as a new strategy to improve testing as the US experienced a surge in Covid-19 cases

    This no good

What's your issue with pool testing? Afraid it'll catch more infected thus driving up the daily case count, which thus gives lockdowns more justification. That's it, aint' it?

    Good post.

Also more younger people are testing positive now than at the onset

But these politicians and karens will always point at New York. Always.

Are the MS and LA rates broken down by race?

Since those Confederate racist states have significant black populations, often rural and poor.

Blacks and Hispanics are dying a higher rates than whites nationwide.

In MS and LA, the white health care system would be, has been, will always be providing inferior health care to non-whites, so higher death rates, all causes

Diluted sample means higher false negatives.

Texas doesn't count probable, NY does.

Add in probable so that data is comparable, what is Texas? Where will Texas be in one month?

Again, how do you know this to be true if probables aren't counted?

lockdowns will never be justified. Go back and look at the all cause fatality chart, look at the unemployment rate, and there will be thousands of lockdown issues that arise for years in terms of health.

And if you are too incompetent to understand why this is a problem, you may want to consider not posting any more gossip.

They are all probable if they didn't die from covid. This is the concept
