I'd vote for Biden three times, if that means Chinese lung AIDS goes away and leftists stop destroying everything.
You should vote for Biden just because hes the better man for the job. I dont why conservatives fear dem politicians? Conservatives win when either party is in office really. A mainstream dem won't significantly raise taxes, ins ute universal healthcare, take away the guns. Be secure in the fact that the US is a center to center-right country regardless of who is in power. The progressive revolution will probably happen after we're both dead.

Trump should get re-elected if virus gets under control
All he has to do is tell you it's under control and you'll start a victory thread about it

But since you can't see the future, you'll go ahead and vote for the guy you pretend you're not really in love with

The people aren't center right. The two party system and the money primary ensures the choice is almost always center right vs right though.

Revolutions are chaotic, bloody and destroy economies. For the most part only the youth support that. America still has more people trying to enter than leave.

I dont mean revolution in a bloody civil sense, but a revolution in a sense where enough Americans finally ing realize how superior social democracy of the European variety is to our rat race "I got mine" economic system

I don't fear a Democrat presidency. As long as they don't go crazy on taxes.

Pretty much. If Trump didn't handle the pandemic like an autistic child he'd probably have cruised to a re-election pretty easily.

ive posted a lot of chile deja vu's in the past few months... but this one isnt quite there, at least not yet. while trump is certainly losing support, and I think even from the start a lot of his "allies" and hires were trying to work around him, his inability to keep his mouth shut and attention whoring at least keep him visible. Lame ducks usually are too embarrassed to show their face, trump continues promising crazy as if he were capable of getting it done...

    Damage is done.

It will take polls being massively off, people to re-shift their thought process and Trump having done something substantial of goodwill to win.

Do all that in 2 and a half months and he just might get even at this point, no guarantees.

He's always been an edgelord attention , tbh... what's new is the obvious capitulation... I mean that tweet with the mask is... pure shame.

But more importantly, it's not about him. He can boast all he wants, but if Mitch doesn't have his back, it makes things really complicated from here to the election.

You can tell his plan was to open everything back up come June 1st, then pump a lot of money into the economy and get a rebound that would take him over the line.

That's dead now, the virus is not going away, not soon anyways. He has to drag 140k dead through the finish line. It's tough.

What's worse, he can't go out there campaigning, and try to define old Joe. Campaign rallies turned into covid talk. He just can't unglue himself from it.

One way he could combat the terrible perception about the virus is throwing stupid money around towards people. But if Mitch doesn't want to play ball, it's going to get really tricky.

By the way, he’s going back to his daily coronavirus briefings starting tomorrow, the very thing that sunk his support to the mid 30s. lol

Look, it makes sense. He's basically invisible right now, and he can't campaign either. He needs to go out there and at least show his face.

Now he reshuffled his campaign, maybe somebody writes him some talking points that make more sense.

yeah thats all true, my point is that trump doesnt care, hes going to keep acting. either that or he doesnt know, but i think he thinks he can bluff his way through and, regardless if he pulls it off (highly doubtful at this point), its not the usual strategy of a politician in this situation, either because they're smart enough to see they need allies or they're honest enough to realize they just dont have enough support. Trump apparently thinks he's the chosen one, again.

I think that meme made sense back in '16 when nobody really knew him. After these 4 years, it's difficult to say he cares about the working class at all.

    Addressed in the OP.

I mean, I know he's running against Biden, so you can't write him off in that race, tbh, but is his power waning as far as shaping image and policy?

(BTW, I know this thread could be great bump material come November, I don't care. This is a discussion about his influence at this point in time, we all know there's plenty of time from here to November).

Higher taxes on the rich help the working class. They always have throughout the 20th century and do so in modern European countries.

Biden is proposing a 700 billion dollar "Buy American" plan. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/07/09/bide...-campaign.html

All this helps the working class significantly more than giving tax cuts to billionaires so they can buy back their own stock. That said, the rural white working class is so invested in the "cult of Trump," I'm not sure there's anything can pull them away. They love him. It's not even about his policies. They just love him as teenagers loved Elvis in the 1950s.
