Fox News Channel stars Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson and Howard Kurtz were accused of sexual harassment by a frequent on-air guest in a lawsuit filed Monday that the network called frivolous and untrue.
In the same case, a former Fox employee said she was harassed and raped by news anchor Ed Henry, who was fired July 1 shortly after the network became aware of the accusations.
Henry’s lawyer, Catherine Foti, said Monday that her client’s accuser, Jennifer Eckhart, initiated and encouraged a sexual relationship.
Hannity and Carlson represent two-thirds of Fox’s lucrative prime-time lineup, while Kurtz hosts the weekend “Media Buzz” show. None of the men have been mentioned before in any misconduct allegations at Fox until the charges were made by Cathy Areu.
The lawsuit filed in New York describes Areu’s discomfort with a March 2018 incident on the set of Hannity’s show where the host allegedly put $100 on a desk and challenged the men on his staff to take her out on a date.
She said she was a guest on Carlson’s show in December 2018 and that after it was over, he told her he was staying in a hotel room in New York that night without his wife and children. In 2019, she said Kurtz invited her to his hotel room to discuss her hope of getting a full-time job at Fox. When she instead invited him to dinner with her and a friend, he declined, she said.

Ms. Areu was a relatively regular face on The Sean Hannity Show until March 8, 2018. On that day, Mr. Hannity, on set and in front of the entire studio crew – and completely unsolicited – threw $100 on the set desk. He then began calling out to the men in the room and demanding that someone take Ms. Areu out on a date for drinks at Del Friscos. He repeatedly yelled, "who wants to take her on a date?" "Take her on a date to Del Friscos." Ms. Areu was completely mortified and made clear that she was incredibly uncomfortable with Mr. Hannity's misogynistic behavior by quietly pleading with one of her friends in the room to accept the money so that the humiliation would end.

There are many comedies that end with the humiliation of a woman, so that can be funny.
It has to do with the general misogyny of the right, which seems to tolerate, and even encourage it.
It doesn't take a geenyus to find an overall pattern in how women are treated by the right, especially liberal ones. there seems to be some subconscious outrage on the part of the white men in conservativeland when a woman has the temerity to disagree.

Yeah, in today’s hyper sensitive climate, some people and admittedly usually overzealous liberals have often gone overboard with calling out every little perceivable bad behavior as criminal, no matter how frivolous. Being a creep can be criminal. But being a creep is not always criminal. It’s like the social media attacks on that Lea Mic e Glee actress for being a . Apparently, she was a to EVERYBODY. Same thing here. Hannity acted in poor taste. I’d even agree that it was inappropriate. But to call that as rising to the level of a sexual harassment criminal case is a reach, to say the least. I don’t give a about Hannity. If it really were harassment, he can rot in jail for all I care. But based on what is alleged, it’s pretty much a horse lawsuit.
Why would COVID not be a political issue when Trump is handling it like a re ?
