The 30k+ dead no longer need hospital.
And that's good![]()
The 30k+ dead no longer need hospital.
Oh right, your theory is that no one else can die there because herd immunity.
I don't know how close to true herd immunity they are.
You said the virus is out of fuel.
I know a large percentage of people got it there and a large number died. Their curve sure looks like the virus is running out of fuel.
Or they just did a good enough job of mitigation this time.
Like we were doing.
Until we weren't.
This time? After it already ravaged their city? You can't be serious.
Sure, they just stood around and let it kill them until it didn't anymore. This is your being serious.
People who are not you are dying, so be happy.
Italy is doing good now, because they did a good enough job of mitigation "this time".
Vietnam is doing a good job because they did because they did a good enough job of mitigation this time.
South Korea is doing a good job because they did because they did a good enough job of mitigation this time.
Why don't you ever compare Texas to them?
Would that make you feel inferior?
NY ed up early, has gotten their together since then. doesnt make up for the fact that a lot of people died. but they still have millions of people who havent been infected. the virus theoretically had more room to spread and more people to kill. it didnt magically stop because it felt bad for the damage it had done. they got their together. too late for many tens of thousands, but nevertheless
But whatabout the nursing homes
LolololI'lllolokollI'll
You
I diagree. I think the virus did the damage it could do there and there aren't many susceptible hosts left.
There are plenty of videos showing crowds of people partying in NYC, but there hasn't been any second wave.
what are your thoughts based on? studies? data?
i can point to the policies they still have in place like a mask mandate, no indoor dining, etc. means a lot more than anecdotes
Well, they had one of the strictest lockdowns in the country, and they are one of the worst hit.
California, currently has the most cases in the country, and they locked down very early.
From what I remember, "flattening the curve" was never about making cases/deaths go to zero, it was about spreading it out over time so hospitals could manage. Haven't we largely done that?
did they have a strict lockdown before getting hit? no, they acted late. recall pelosi inviting people to chinatown, de blasio downplaying it early, etc. it was during that time people were starting to get sick and spread it. NYC was especially susceptible to rapid, mass spreading, and they got hammered because of it.
yes, and they performed well early, relatively speaking. as they began to relax restrictions, cases started shooting upCalifornia, currently has the most cases in the country, and they locked down very early.
this has nothing to do with the question at hand. flatten the curve doesnt mean make it flat for some time and then go back to normal. you keep at it. nationally, we were pretty slow the flatten the curve, but we nevertheless did. then we ed up and had to start over. From what I remember, "flattening the curve" was never about making cases/deaths go to zero, it was about spreading it out over time so hospitals could manage. Haven't we largely done that?
By now, even the dumbest mother er in this country knows how Covid 19 spreads and the basic steps needed to reduce the odds of getting and spreading it.
At this point it's stupid to blame city/state/US government for the surge in infections.
It's dumb, selfish assholes not wanting to live with the minor inconvenience of following the recommendations.
a good article

Sorry guy. But USA as government and country response to the virus has been worse than a pathetic joke. Blunder after blunder and now virus is impossible to contain.
China contained it as well as many other 1st world countries.
Our 3rd world hole of a country still clueless.
Oh and do you not realize to reduce risk TO YOU the other ppl need all to be wearing masks?
Nonsense. How can you not blame Abbott for telling the cities they couldn't enforce mask mandates? As soon as that cripple said that mask usage fell of a cliff where I'm at. How can you not blame Trump for trying to poison 30% of the country against masks by saying people were using them just to make him look bad? How can you not blame Texas not being willing to enforce their capacity law with bar re-openings? This current state we're in is a byproduct of ty governing at the federal and state level.
Mistakes were made early. There is no denying that. Now get the over it.
We know exactly what to do now. Stupid s need to do it.
And DUHHHH I realize that other people need to wear masks to reduce my risk.
, I carry a box of paper masks and hand them out like candy on my job sites to non compliant workers.
