Becky already said they are going to experiment with rotations in these 3 games but one thing, while a cool visual, they can't start Dejounte, White, Walker together. They need to stagger the minutes between Dejounte, White, Walker, and Keldon so that 2 are always on the court at the same time. It also would have been great to have Lyles so that you could split minutes between him and Gay.

    Dejounte, White, Lyles

    Walker, Keldon, Gay

    etc.

still no defense but im glad i could finally see a youngies in s5. However, imo djm/lonnie/keldon would be a better backcourt. White as a pg from the bench. Hope to see djm/lonnie/keldon/samanic(metu)/poeltl next game.

    My review:

Dejounte didnt do enough playmaking. He was just passing it off and not running plays. He does look to have an improved mid range jumper.

I havent been a supporter of Lonnie but as mentioned earlier, he was invisible in the first half then turned it up in the second. He had a starlike quality to some of the plays he made. But most of all, i was impressed by the fact that he didnt make as many dumb plays as he did during the season pre pandemic.

Keldon got into foul trouble in the first half and didnt see much minutes because of that. Most of the fouls were ticky tack fouls the refs were calling because Giannis. Another one was one of those smart fouls Ginobili used to make to prevent the fast break. In the second half, you could see his scoring prowess. He has a knack for making backboard field goals (by aiming high) which is a sign of a smart offensive player. I was really impressed by the passes he made, that probably wont show up in the highlights because his teammates missed them. He is much improved in this area since i dont recall any of these passes during Gleague.

White was so aggressive. Are we seeing a new White? If so, we have a damn good player. He wasnt playing PG as much and let the others handle the ball, and he did it so well. Great defense, and great offense. White is a keeper.

Gay needs to go. Dude is seriously a liability.

Samanic still needs to get some strength. Dude was invisible out there similar to how Lonnie was.

Everyone else was forgettable or disappointing

Lol @ Pop preaching about defence yet continues to give some of the worst defenders in the NBA minutes.

Luka only played 4 minutes, compared to 24 for Lonnie. I don't think he hurt the team while out there late in the 4th quarter.

This is what I watched. I didn't get a live transmission.

Highlights can be misleading but I liked what I saw from DJ, White and Walker. Walker specially had a couple of impressive drives and hit the corner 3 twice. There's definite potential there, it comes down to his compe ive desire (and coaching). He has talent. Overall though, the team is really undersized (they are missing Lamarcus and Lyles, and struggled to defend b4 even with those two).

Thanks to fans who gave a review after watching the entire game. I am sure there's much that I missed with just highlights.

Not saying he hurt the team. Just saying what i noticed when a smaller guy was pushing him off his feet.

I am sure there was the option to rebuild, get picks and draft. Since 2017 there have been several difference makers to enter the league. Makes me salty tbh. I hate the Spurs refusing to rebuild at that point. It was the perfect moment. Timmy had retired, Manu was about to, Tony needed to retire as well. They needed to rebuild at some point. Could have had any of the young ones that have helped turn around the Mavs, or Grizzlies, or Zion, or somebody tbh.

You think those teams would have pulled the trigger on that trade knowing that there was a pretty good possibility nephew wouldn’t sign with them just like he didn’t sign with the raptors? Or that maybe he wasn’t healthy being that he was “Hurt” for a little over a year and didn’t suit up with the spurs.

But he made up for it in garbage time.

Actually, Walker looked pretty good. Samson in reverse?

D is still a big issue.

Man I miss really caring about basketball.
hard to gaf about most of the team in it's current incarnation
Agreed. I'm working from home and didn't even know this game was on but then again none of these NBA games excite me right now. When I see highlights I feel like I'm watching a bunch of guys at the community center.

Id like to add: for this game, Poetl showed he isnt much a game changer for him to be rewarded a big contract by the Spurs this offseason... We will see what he does next game.
