The way I have always heard the story was David Robinson really got the team riled up to rally around Pop that game, and from that night on they were virtually unbeatable. Can't imagine this team would have been nearly as successful with Doc Rivers running things. Also there were a lot of rumors about the Spurs trading David at that time. I remember one of the big ones was sending him to Portland for Rasheed Wallace. Pretty crazy the way the season turned that night in Houston after an incredibly embarrassing loss at home to the Jazz on national TV.
