Mistakes were made early. There is no denying that. Now get the over it.

We know exactly what to do now. Stupid s need to do it.

And DUHHHH I realize that other people need to wear masks to reduce my risk.

, I carry a box of paper masks and hand them out like candy on my job sites to non compliant workers.

Nonsense. How can you not blame Abbott for telling the cities they couldn't enforce mask mandates? As soon as that cripple said that mask usage fell of a cliff where I'm at. How can you not blame Trump for trying to poison 30% of the country against masks by saying people were using them just to make him look bad? How can you not blame Texas not being willing to enforce their capacity law with bar re-openings? This current state we're in is a byproduct of ty governing at the federal and state level.

Easy. The science was clearly explained that social distancing, wearing masks, hand sanitizer and frequent hand washing were our tools to limit the spread of the disease. People simply thought that didn't apply to them and refused to do it. , drinking and driving is illegal but I suspect you do it occasionally anyway. Same theory.

That was ing dumb, but it would be even dumber to use that as your excuse not to social distance, wear a mask, use hand sanitizer and wash your hands. Not to be racist, but 80% of Bexar County cases are latinx. Do you think they were rabid Trump followers?

How can you not blame dumb mother ers that opened the door, saw the place was ing packed and didn't turn around and leave?

Why is it always call out Democrats by name when they up but when Republicans do it's a vague failure of us all?

Blaming systemic problems on personal choices is a great way to shirk responsibility for solving them.

Without government intervention we are looking at > 1,000 deaths a day for the next 12 months minimum.

Thats 365,000 additional deaths by next year
    Easily.

Doesnt even take a GED grad to easily realize this.

If USA doesnt stop acting like a 3rd world hole well be in deep caca

By now, even the dumbest mother er in this country knows how Covid 19 spreads and the basic steps needed to reduce the odds of getting and spreading it.

At this point it's stupid to blame city/state/US government for the surge in infections.

It's dumb, selfish assholes not wanting to live with the minor inconvenience of following the recommendations.
there are a lot of dumb s who continue to believe that it is an overblown flu because that was their initial impression and they are stubborn.

Seems counter intuitive. Blaming repercussions from personal choices on systemic issues instead of personal choices is a great way (and quite popular here it seems) to shirk responsibility for not making the right, more difficult choice originally.

Abbott basically said the science was bull when he said cities couldn't enforce mask mandates. Abbott thought it didn't apply to him and to us. And no, I do not ever drink and drive.

Yes, Trump s are stupid. But they're a significant proportion of our population and their refusal to give a about anyone other than themselves affects us all. No I don't think the Latino cases were Trump followers. A lot of them were likely waiters serving Trump followers, people checking Trumpers out at the grocery stores, and working other high risk jobs though.

How can you not blame dumb mother ers that opened the door, saw the place was ing packed and didn't turn around and leave?
Um I do. How can you not blame the governor who ok'ed bars at 100% capacity?

Isn't Little Woodrow's a bar? I drove by last night and it was PACKED. How these places still get away with this is beyond me.

, a reporter asked Nirenberg about why byob gentleman's clubs have been allowed to operate this whole time, and Nirenberg said it was news to him and they would immediately look into it.

There is no doubt that Trump, Abbott, DeSantos, Newsom, Cuomo and many other local and national leaders can be blamed. But when it comes down to it, it is up to the individual to decide whether they are going to go out unnecessarily, wear a mask, practice social distancing. People will either continue or prevent the spread, not our government. Americans will never hand over the amount of control that is needed to keep people locked up in their homes. For this reason, it comes down to the people, not government to control the spread.

I am still waiting for Nirenberg to crackdown on COVID parties like the one that killed the 30 year old.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/12/u...rty-death.html

You would think some kind of investigation would take place if people were really having these kinds of parties. I am glad that the NY Times has since done a little research and it sounds like everyone can acknowledge that the story was BS.

I like Nirenberg, but how does this sort of thing go under his and his people's heads? These places have been getting away with this for 4 months now, and he's only now finding out about it?

It's not a one way street. Abbott actively sabotaged San Antonio's efforts (as well as other Texas cities') to curb the spread and look where we are now. I don't buy this argument that it's wholly up to the individual because masks aren't very useful for protecting you. They're all about protecting others from you by catching a significant proportion of the droplets you produce when speaking. If people stopped wearing them I would too since trying to protect them if they don't offer me the same courtesy. If we're just going to go by what's best for the individual it wouldn't make sense for anyone to wear a mask since they're annoying and if others wear masks I'm protected, if others don't wear masks I'm no worse off not wearing mine. Government needs to provide the leadership here in a case where what's best for the individual turns out to be devastatingly bad for the whole.
