a hair over 1500 reported deaths today, most since late may. was hoping last week's figures reflected some sort of plateau or that we had reached our peak. might not be the case. obviously, still need to see how the next few days play out to determine if there's a trend

But, way less than mid April. Thanks for posting.

We have better therapeutics now (govs aren't requesting 40k ventilators) and we aren't putting covid positive people in nursing homes.

    Things are getting better.

(Reuters) – Facebook Inc <FB.O> said on Tuesday it removed 7 million posts in the second quarter for sharing false information about the novel coronavirus, including content that promoted fake preventative measures and exaggerated cures.

Facebook released the data as part of its sixth Community Standards Enforcement Report, which it introduced in 2018 along with more stringent decorum rules in response to a backlash over its lax approach to policing content on its platforms.

The company said it would invite external experts to independently audit the metrics used in the report, beginning 2021

Lol Facebook hoping new president in 2021

if 1,000 people die every day in continuity will you seriously not care just because there were days in april where more people died? does the total increasing body count not matter?

and we're limiting this discussion to deaths, which isn't even the totality of the consequences

I'm an optimist. It sucks that sick, elderly people are dying.

But I think we are turning a corner on this pandemic. It was a GOOD thing that a large number of young, healthy people got infected. Slows the spread and moves us closer to herd immunity.

the numbers are better relative to april, particularly in 2 states. the numbers are worse relative to every other period of time. you act like it's a non-factor because the numbers aren't as bas as they were at the worst point we've had so far. that's completely absurd.

nobody in 2008 was saying the recession didnt matter because it wasn't as bad as the great depression, but that is the stance you're taking. the number of deaths we are seeing now is worse than it was a month ago. when we've now had over half a year with the virus in our country, it's ing absurd that we actually are seeing another uptick in deaths

There's no vaccine. Things have to get bad before they get better.

That's why the most hammered states in April look good now.

Do you think that was caused by policy? Nope. They've got near herd immunity now because so many people got it.

    Complete bull .

There are examples worldwide of countries that never got bad.

now you have to pretend there has been no mitigation in NY at all.
