Trump will speak all four nights, that'll go well
He might step down if Trump asked him to.
Trump will speak all four nights, that'll go well
To run for VP, yes. It's technically up to the party but they'll do whatever Trump says. Pence is such an obedient wife I could even see his resigning for Trump.
That would be a tough secret for the RNC to keep unless Trump just springs it on everyone including them next week.
Not to mention how disorganized and hairbrained their convention looks like it'll be. 2nd rate producers from the Apprentice running the show, last minute venue change, etc. The right wing media talent surrounding Trump ain't what it used to be, and Trump is trying to make up for it just by giving more speeches.
They announced that there's going to be a Democrats for Trump part of the convention but no speakers have been disclosed. This comes off as a reactionary decision after the Dem Convention where they're now scrambling to find Democrats to endorse Trump. Stupid of them to take the bait.
You know they're running out of options when they have to roll out Tiffany.
Putin wasn't available?
You could be the most talented speaker in the history of politics, and people are going to get bored of hearing speeches from you 4 days in a row. The whole point of the first 3 days is to build up to the nomination speech at the end, not dull down the excitement so the 4th night is repe ive![]()
This is the one time Hollywood came through for the democrats.
They had over 500+ producers handling it behind the scenes.
Even Democrats would be tired of Obama and his writers, but four straight nights of "the cupboard was bare" and "sir" stories without thousands of adoring fans high on oxy....
Yeah it's not like Trump has a wide repertoire of talking points to spread out over 4 nights. "Look at how high the S&P is trading!" and "Unemployment was low before COVID-19 so you should just ignore how bad the economy is with COVID when you vote for me" is going to get old really quickly![]()
Lincoln Project is also doing a counter-convention each night after the RNC is over. These people have slowly grown on me with their relentlessness![]()
"I call her....Pocahontas!"
"We're creating jobs like no one has ever seen!"
"People have said she's not an Americans citizen."
"Beau Biden? I like my sons alive, OK?"
"Biden's daughter looks like a dog compared to Ivanka. Isn't Ivanka beautiful folks?"
"Did you folks see crooked Hillary last week? She looks nastier than ever!"
"I love my black people! Where are my black people? Tim! Get on out here! Tim? He's in South Carolina? Rudy! Get Tim on your face phone and hold it up to the camera so we can see it! You won't see Sleepy Joe doing this!"

What a ty, non inspiring list they have.
two reps from NY. He seriously thinks he can win there.
Outside of Joni Ernst, none of the Republicans in close senate races are speaking (a convention in Charlotte where Thillis isn't a speaker), and neither are Pat Toomey and Ron Johnson.
I like the roster of Uncle Toms - Ben Carson, Kim Klacik, Clarence Henderson, etc. Surprised Coondace Owens isn't getting a spot. We're going to hear "Trump has done more for black people than any president ever!" a lot over 4 days.
called it!
He's going to announce some executive order type each evening most likely like it's a game show.
The Apprentice Convention
I don't think it'll be that elaborate, it'll just be 4 nights of progressively more incoherent vitriol and MAGA promises.
I'm sure plenty of people claim to be experts on this, but my previous employer before I moved to DC was run by a sociopath of Trump-like proportions (the similarities between them are peculiar). The first ~1 year I worked there I thought he was a genius the way Trump supporters think Trump is a genius, but once the company started falling apart the guy running it started acting more erratic and the lying about how he had an amorphous "plan" escalated (I eventually quit once investors sued and I found out he never had a plan). Fast forward to now, there's no company and he went from having an 8 figure net worth and a family to nothing.
IMO Trump is at the part where he sees his empire crumbling, and he's overcompensating to make it look like he has a trump card (no pun intended) he's waiting to play. Maybe I'm biased, but if I learned one thing from working for a deranged sociopath for 2 years, it's that they have no discipline whatsoever in terms of hiding what they think is good news, especially when things around them are crumbling. If Trump had any executive orders he thought would help him maintain popularity, he wouldn't have had the restraint to wait for convention time. Chances are what we've seen from him the last few weeks is what we're getting for the convention.
Sounds about right. There will be plenty of talk about what he'll do if you only elect him again even though he had four years to do it already, two of which were unfettered by any meaningful opposition.
Yup, and if he's re-elected he'll get nothing done, especially if the Dems take the senate.
The more I think about it, the more the debates are going to be bad for Trump. He's not going to take any preparation seriously. He's already convinced he's a lot smarter than Biden and can run circles around him without any prep.
I am failing to see the upside of speaking 4 straight nights.
I'm going to go on a limb and say these will just be rallies with no sense of direction, thought or any coherence.
no 2020 GOP platform, so much for the party of ideas.
https://prod-cdn-static.gop.com/medi...323.1598219603WHEREAS, The RNC enthusiastically supports President Trump and continues to reject thepolicy positions of the Obama-Biden Administration, as well as those espoused by theDemocratic National Committee today; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Republican Party has and will continue to enthusiastically support thePresident’s America-first agenda;
RESOLVED, That the 2020 Republican National Convention will adjourn without adopting anew platform until the 2024 Republican National Convention;
RESOLVED, That the 2020 Republican National Convention calls on the media to engage inaccurate and unbiased reporting, especially as it relates to the strong support of the RNC forPresident Trump and his Administration; andRESOLVED, That any motion to amend the 2016 Platform or to adopt a new platform, includingany motion to suspend the procedures that will allow doing so, will be ruled out of order.
Hopefully it goes better than the Taj Mahal and the US, tbh
