There is a lot of protocol surrounding mask usage that's simply dogma - like people wearing valve style masks or walking around inside restaurants sans mask, but must have it to go in or back outside. There's some level of best effort involved that might provide some effect, but it's largely placebo. Placebo isn't without value though.

He's saying ifr same as flu for healthy people. Healthy people suc b to the flu as well. So since there's always some risk to everyone (as even the forum flotsam has conceded), added risk would be the only relative risk.

There are still no N95 masks for the public. People are using cloth. So it's ok to allow people to continue to socialize and travel sans masks then, but not now?

The CDC recommends everyday preventive actions, such as hand washing, to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases. -CDC
