Any degree of protection is better than no degree of protection. You need to make sure that people understand that you will not 100 percent protected. Therefore, you need to continue to wear a mask, you need to continue to be physically distant, and you need to continue to avoid crowds. Having the vaccine on board is just an extra, added level of protection.

if this vaccine works like other vaccines that are not 100% effective can reduce the symptoms in a way that keeps people out of hospitals and at the same time reduces their ability to infect other people.

Agree. I dont think its only Trump. US olygarchy wants to rush a vaccine to avoid economic apocalypse. They dont care if we eventually will grow pig tails due to a bad vaccine batch. Saving their billions and empire is more important.
The rush is two parts:
1. Get one before flu season; we know, especially in cold climates, people will be inside with each other.
2. Absolutely political. Trump needs to at least be able to say we have a vaccine, line up. Especially After completely downplaying the virus, even though he knew how bad it could become. The panic excuse is laughable. He could have 4 more years in the bag with honesty in what we might confront. Its written out clearly how to handle communicating these things, he decided against using this because it involves saying we might be wrong and includes telling the truth.
