Can speak for RD, but Kuz always just struck me as a guy who thinks he is way better than he is.Why? Because he dress weird?
If we wanted a guy to play 1 good game and then follow it up with 4 crappers, we could have just kept Richard Jefferson.

The Spurs say assistant coach Mitch Johnson has been promoted. Johnson fills the position vacated by Tim Duncan. Additionally, Darius Songaila has been elevated to assistant coach.
I'm asking myself the same question. Apparently they need a PG and had Josh Richardson run point for some time during last season. They might just think Mills is a better fit, so Simmons can play the 3. It would still be a dumb move on their side if you ask me, but I don't think there's anybody here who wouldn't do the deal as long as you don't have to include a 1st round pick.
Because Morey is gonna be desperate for shooters on that team.
Oh I agree. Kuz is still a young developing player. He made strives defensively but his offense digressed without Longo spoon feeding him buckets. He got hurt playing for Pop over the summer and was behind the 8ball all year.
Pop knows his game. If Kuz played for anybody but the Lakers he'd do the deal and not look back.
Danny Green is basically and expiring $15 million dollar deal. Pelinka would sweeten the deal with our 2020 1st rounder but it won't be enough
Mills would help their team but I highly doubt they'd trade Richardson for Mills. Problem is that they really don't have other trade filler that would match up with Mills in which they don't take on even more salary.
It's ironic that Philly wants Mills now since he's always been Brett Brown's guy and they ended up -canning him.

Richardson is barely a worse shooter, while better in every other aspect of the game.
I'd think Gay and Mills for Horford and their first would make more sense for both teams, if the Spurs are moving Aldridge.
If a DeRozan deal happens, I really hope it looks something like:
Dallas Gets: Danny Green
Spurs Gets: Lakers 2020 1st (28th pick), Dallas 2020 1st (18th pick), Hardaway Jr. and Kyle Kuzma
Lakers Gets: DeRozan
Richardson always struck me as more of a general scorer, not a shooter. He shot .349 on threes over the last two years, while Mills shot .388 on higher volume.
That adds up when you are playing Moreyball.
Also, Mills is six inches shorter and we all know how much Morey loves his small ball

I think the Spurs could/should ask for a second 1st rounder. Mills and Gay for Horford and their 2020 (they can make the pick for us and then complete the trade) and 2021 first's or their 2021 and 2023 firsts.
Spurs would save Phily a lot of money in the long term while the Spurs could pick up to good assets for two expiring's.
Kuzma, 2 firsts, and Hardaway Jr. (who they might be able to flip) is pretty damn good return for a player seemingly out the door.
Kuzma is basically a taller Jordan Clarkson...really hope the spurs can do better than that. And green sucked last year.
