Blaming the voters and embracing avoidable mass death -- because, values -- is optional.

Putting the burden of facing COVID-19 on people with the power to do something about it -- like President Trump and the US Congress, like governors and state legislators, like city and county officials, like the public at at large -- seems much preferable to puny teacup striving at "values," eh?
Its a virus. Stop testing it goes away. Don't test at 40 to 45 CT it goes away. Avg age of covid death is past life expectancy with an avg of 3 comorbidities. It's not the spanish flu. Its not like killing mass amounts of healthy people. Its not killing o ly people who do t wear masks.

The data collection and reporting is terrible. That's the problem

I don't get the mask issue. "Oh he didn't wear a mask, of course he got it". Wasn't the mask supposed to be to avoid spreading it, not to avoid getting it? Didn't the CDC say as much?

No. They even admit as much with their quarantine rules
Even if you wear a mask you still must quarantine if a close contact of a covid positive.

    Lolololol

Masks dont work. Nor has the science ever said they.do. 0 randomized trials

Your mask offers some protection to you

A cloth mask also offers some protection to you too. How well it protects you from breathing in the virus likely depends on the fabrics used and how your mask is made (e.g. the type of fabric, the number of layers of fabric, how well the mask fits). CDC is currently studying these factors.

Though health officials have warned Americans to prepare for the spread of the novel coronavirus in the U.S., people shouldn’t wear face masks to prevent the spread of the infectious illness, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. surgeon general.

But that’s not the only reason Americans may want to think twice about using masks, one expert told Marke ch.

Most people don’t know how to use face masks correctly, and a rush to buy masks could prevent the people who need them most — health care providers — from getting them, said Dr. Amesh Adalja, a scholar at the Center for Health Security at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

In fact the U.S. surgeon general recently urged the public to “STOP BUYING MASKS!” “They are NOT effective in preventing general public from catching #Coronavirus, but if healthcare providers can’t get them to care for sick patients, it puts them and our communities at risk!,” wrote Surgeon General Jerome Adams on Twitter.

The CDC said last month it doesn’t recommend people use face masks, making the announcement on the same day that first case of person-to-person transmission of coronavirus was reported in the U.S. The CDC recommendation on masks stands, a spokesman told Marke ch Wednesday, even with the first reported case of a COVID-19 infection in an individual in California who had not been to China or been exposed to a person diagnosed with the virus.

“The virus is not spreading in the general community,” Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of the Center for the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, said in a Jan. 30 briefing. “We don’t routinely recommend the use of face masks by the public to prevent respiratory illness. And we certainly are not recommending that at this time for this new virus.”

So when did the CDC realize masks prevent the wearer from contracting COVID?

In fact, the turn about was due to previously unforeseen asymptomatic carriers. So masks were to prevent those people from spreading it, not to prevent the wearer from getting it.

The point is that many here now have completely moved over to the false notion that the mask is to protect the wearer. It wasn't intended to be that. It's not that.

"Face masks will be most effective at slowing the spread of SARS-CoV-2 if they are widely used, because they may help prevent people who are asymptomatically infected from transmitting the disease unknowingly," Gottlieb wrote. Gottlieb points to South Korea and Hong Kong — two places that were shown to manage their outbreaks successfully and where face masks are used widely.

Few people here actually ping you or respond to you, so to pretend someone demanded anything of you is borderline delusional. I wasn't even talking to you, but in the midst of another lonely night, you felt the irresistible urge to chime in with another post.

Masks don't prevent us from getting COVID. It might help slow the spread if we are infected already. We are not using the types of masks that would have the filtration rate to make a difference otherwise, and the intake/exhaust is most often around these masks, not through them.

What's funny is you're probably talking about a post you made I haven't even seen. You think you landed a hit.

    Here are the facts, David.

    1. CDC recommended against the use of masks. They didn't remain silent on it, they recommended against it.
    2. The Surgeon General also said don't buy masks.
    3. When the CDC reversed their position, it was due to asymptomatic carriers.
    4. The science behind URIs didn't change overnight.
    5. The efficacy of OTC masks didn't suddenly improve just because the CDC changed their stance.

    From Nov 12

    What you need to know
    1. People age 2 and older should wear masks in public settings and when around people who don’t live in their household.
    2. Masks offer some protection to you and are also meant to protect those around you, in case you are unknowingly infected with the virus that causes COVID-19.
    3. A mask is NOT a subs ute for social distancing. Masks should still be worn in addition to staying at least 6 feet apart.
    4. Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol after touching or removing your mask. (No one is doing this btw, so there's that)
    5. Masks may not be necessary when you are outside by yourself away from others, or with other people who live in your household. However, some localities may have mask mandates while out in public and these mandates should always be followed. (so social distance is better than a mask, and the mask doesn't make up for lack of social distance. What does the mask do exactly?)
    6. CDC is still studying the effectiveness of different types of masks and will update our recommendations as new scientific evidence becomes available.

So when someone becomes infected with COVID and some bird like you says something stupid about them not wearing a mask, just remember why you bought into it in the 1st place, David.
