Texas has been adding about 100 or so fatalities per day for the last few days,
The uptick in cases usually leads deaths by a week, but the reporting for those deaths takes about two weeks to get to about 95% of what it will eventually be.
Overall case fatality rate (based on confirmed, and not probables) stays at about 2% over a long period of time, being much higher at the beginning than now, but still hovering around that benchmark.
We are probably seeing a peak in fatalities approaching the late July early Aug numbers right now, and will probably blow past that given the case counts in another week or two.
