Brogdon, tbh.
Can't wait to lose by 40 against the Grizzlies
Brogdon, tbh.
Aldridge being a forward or center is just arguing semantics. He's still part of that core that makes up our bigs. And we both agree him and whoever we have manning the bigs spots are terrible.
Off of three preseason games why do you believe he won't do that? He's already played Vassell more minutes than any rookie probably ever. Hoping Vassell would be a starter during the preseason was just unrealistic because like I said, we still have to see what Lonnie can do... Which, be honest, you were on his bandwagon and wanted to see if he can contribute more this season.
I don't think we are far off from DeMar being at PF. We saw it some tonight.
Your other criticisms are fine, I just don't think the rotations being one is valid.
The sad thing is Pop hasn't been relevant for at least the past 5 years.
At the time most were happy with Murray over Brogdon because he had much better athleticism. Unfortunately Murray hasn't developed the IQ and skill people hoped he would (which was a longshot anyway).
The Spurs are right there with the Knicks for worst run team in the NBA the last five years which has taken its toll season by season. The roster construction and rotations have been pitiful as most Spurs fans have pointed out. The season could get ugly fast especially if White is out for an extended time period. Even with him, it's hard to see the team playing winning ball given the roster and minute configurations.
It was mostly Spur homerism. His ceiling was always back up pg.
Because I know Pop. When everybody's healthy White and Murray will start. Maybe he starts DeRozan at PF at some point, but it will take about 20 games, which means we will lose a lot of games in the beginning. This is how Pop coaches.
Bill's Concern O' Meter
Murray: NBA player, can't run an offense. Should be on a bench somewhere.
Lonnie: NBA athlete, doesn't seem to know how or really want to play. Will soon get passed up by a rookie.
Luka: NBA athlete (maybe). See Lonnie but worse.
Jakob: I'm a starter. No, wait, no I'm not.
Trey: Year 2, I'm done (as everywhere)
What could we realistically get for Lonnie in a trade?
I'm kind of done on him. He's at best going to be a one-way player and his one way, offense, won't ever be there consistently because he has less self-confidence on a daily basis than Verde does after a bad shooting night.
You saying he'll be out the League?
I always wanted Brogdon
Same. Something about an NBA ready guy who wanted to play for the Spurs was always more appealing than a low IQ stick figure with no handles or jumper. Same way I felt last year with Clarke (and others) over Puka Sammich.
I liked Murray's athleticism, but it was obvious he wouldn't be able to make use of it due to how weak he was physically and when attacking the rim.
It's just preseason and I still have some hope for him but what he's shown so far is that he's not much more than Jonathon Simmons or Gerald Green

Haha the theme of this season
Had no idea the Rockets are better without Cousins and Wall
No, but he drops off in the 2nd year wherever he goes. or so I recall
Did Lonnie have the ball alot in high school and college? He looks lost off ball sometimes.
If there was one thing Marco could have been worth signing these last years, is he could have shown Lonnie had to move without the ball. Sadly, it looks like Marco just imparted his defensive mindset to Lonnie.
The thing is that he has to work ALOT to get to where Simmons was. And he can't play defense or rebound at all. Also can't dribble (though he has better handles than DJ).
He's not really good at anything besides hitting an open 3. Maybe he's Kerr?
Him being a Kerr wouldn't be bad. Right now though, it just looks like he isn't good at this game.
Maybe he should have run track?
I turning the game off and looking at 2021 NBA Mock Draft![]()
Lonnie had the ball a lot in the G-League. Kind of like DeRozan. They played him as the go-to-guy which was also the role he had when he destroyed everybody in summer league. He is not an offball player. Which is why he should come off the bench, so he can develop into a 6th man. Let him run the pick & roll and look for his shot or kick it out to guys like Patty. For the starters, they been used to playing with an offball shooter at SG, like Forbes and Danny Green, so Vassell makes more sense to be the starting SG.
We don't need Lonnie to rebound
Defense? He can play it. Remember that one time Pop screamed at Lonnie for shying away from guarding Kawhi? Dude just wilts. He's lacking the necessary mental toughness.
He can drive.
He can pass, he has great vision.
The problem is he is not FEARLESS. It's all mental with him.
