Once we have Keldon back to add toughness, we need another guy - preferably a big - who can be a bully and adds some nasty. Someone like Marcus Morris...
Asked Poeltl how the Spurs can improve their free throw shooting.
He said rhythm, consistent follow-thru, and a sense of confidence are key.
Asked a homeless man how the Spurs can improve monetarily.
He said saving, investing, and keeping expenses low are key.
Asked Ducks how I could improve my spelling.
He said practise, repetetion, and the election was stolen are key.

Nice dunk on ducks.
How after the Spurs (relative) success in the bubble and supposed continuation into the off season of said developments, playing style etc; do we trot out the an hesis of such through 3 pre season games?
The biggest development is the ascension of Devin Vassell to an NBA ready player. This probably doesn’t occur without the injuries to
Keldon and White.
LA is the biggest problem on this team right now. Clearly the trade talk has affected his play.

Because Keldon and White were the two major reasons for the success in the bubble. That team played with grit that this preseason team didn't have. Their absence is a great thing to expedite Vassell's development. Actually couldn't have happened at a better time ...
Because two of the main reasons we were successful in the bubble is because LMA and Lyles didn't play
For Vassell, yes.
For the long term outlook of the Spurs, maybe.
There are still lineups available to the Spurs that can somewhat mitigate the lulls Offensively this team is experiencing.
DDR, LA, Gay, DJ all need the ball to be effective.
All four can’t start.
Starters need to be : DJ, Lonnie, DDR, Lyles and Poeltl.
You stagger the Rotations with DJ, Poeltl and Lonnie coming out at the 5 - 6 min mark for Patty, Vassell and LA.
At the 2 min mark to End of the 1st: Gay and DJ come in for Lyles and DDR.
Now that’s just an example of a quarter. You can fluctuate a little depending on who’s hot, matchups etc but these lineups have skillsets that compliment each other. Hoping we get to see something like this in the reg. season as it does have some bubble potential while White and KJ are injured.
Vassell (as Keldon) never needed games to be ready, he was ready from the day he signed the contract, the only difference is that he had the opportunity to show the world, so now, when/if he can't get regular minutes the usual posters won't be able to pretend it's not Pop's fault.
Vassell was ready the day he was born , youre underrating Vassell here, the day he signed the contract? cmon man. Youre right on Keldon those 3pt percentage stats from the g league was hacked by spurms pop sniffers everybody knows Keldon could've shot 60% from three from day one in the NBA, all this talk of the spurms fixing his shot during his g league stint are from conspiracy theorist making stuff up on the interweb. Pop is poop.
you need a pat on the back or the cycle is not complete (some adults really need strangers agreeing with their irony-covered opinions on an anonymous forum), and although I ignore your opinion, you are probably right, these 3 games in 6 days were what definitely prepared and took Vassell to the level of game presented... in the first game...genius
I think you missed his sarcasm. Ranking doesn't post like that, or at least I don't think he does.
probably,
this team is really pissing me off....well...Derricks's health is irritating me, even Keldon, who I think is an iron man is losing games.
Take it easy.
The Spurs haven't dug themselves into a hole.
This season can still go either way. It's still too damn early.
And honestly, it's a win-win either way.
On one hand: there will be a strong 2021 draft class.
On the other: if we make the playoffs, then that means one or more of our young players have blown up and became a star.
Agreed, we've seen the Spurs piss away the preseason before and still come out fine. Granted, we had three Hall of Famers back to lean on back then, but it doesn't make sense to overreact to a bunch of warm-up games.
If we still look the same 15 games into the season and once we have everyone back, people can hit the panic button.
This is what makes Spurstalk the best![]()
Man, Lonnie is showing why Bryn Forbes was in the starting lineup.
Yep n people think pops an idiot
